Im so glad I found these!!

These loops work great, giving you a secure tie point anywhere you can catch them in a seam (hood, trunk, door, etc).

They are very strong thus far, seem of great quality.

If you are a small car rooftop kind of guy (e.g. my Jetta TDI), I'm sure you've run into situations where you would have liked to secure your load by tying to a bumper front and back. I ran into that with my new Kayaks. Then you found there are no connection points anywhere near your bumpers, they are made of vinyl, and even if there were connections the ropes would cause bad rubs on your hood and trunk lid paint.

These loops work great, giving you a secure tie point anywhere you can catch them in a seam (hood, trunk, door, etc). The only drawback was that they should have a stainless or brass hook or loop at the end so you don't wear out the strap by rope rubs (after many trips). I added some stainless S hooks and squeezed the end around the strap so they would not fall off.

This is a good idea. If you have a roof rack, buy these loops and keep them in your trunk. You will be happy to have them when the time comes.Sherpak Quick Loops (Pair)

I recently got these & have used them for securing my Hobie Cat Kayak on both my Subaru Outback & Honda Del Sol. As advertised they are a simple, effective, easy way to tie things down to your vehicle. With these you are not limited to tie down locations. I have had both cars up to 75 mph using these with no stability issues (not that I also have a rope or two around the body of the kayak). Great product at a great price, shipped promptly (supersaver shipping) Highly recommended!

I use this with both my 2011 Outback and 2012 Impreza. Both of these cars have a LOT of plastic on the front and back, and there aren't any really great anchor points (you can find them if you look, or use a tow bolt, but both of these require some crawling around under the car). These are a great solution - I bought two of the two packs, one for the hood, one for the trunk. Close them up and you have two quick cinch points for bow/stern lines. I couldn't be happier, but note that if you don't tie them down tight you'll get a loud buzz sound from the loose straps (and maybe lose a canoe/kayak).

These well designed quick loops fit perfectly when used in the hatch and trunk of our cars. Simply lay them in the trunk or hood area where you want the loops to stick out and close the trunk, hatch or hood. Solid fit, no movement, very strong. Such a simple solution for an otherwise complicated problem of finding tie downs for the bow and stern of a roof mounted canoe/kayak.

Other applications for these loops are endless (Ikea, moving, elephants). Can't believe I have never discover these before now!

My new 2013 Subaru Outback has no convenient (basically non-existent) tie down points for the bow and stern of my 14 foot kayak.
These work very well when combined with ProGrip 8' x 1/4" XRT Rope Lock Tie Downs.

I'm using these to tie the bow & stern of my kayak on me car. So far they haven't damaged my car or the paint.

Before I even used them for their intended purpose, they came in handy to 'peg out' my tent fly with rocks because the camping site was not tent friendly. Took a little trial and error to figure out where the Quickloops would work best under the hood, but after that was sorted they were just what I was looking for. Got an extra pair for the tailgate too and they are perfect back there. Can hardly believe this is the only company that makes these ~ from what I could find on the web.

If you order these loops your will probably want to order 2 pairs; 2 loops for the hood and 1 for the trunk with 1 spare. For the trunk place the loop in the hinge. After closing the hood and trunk, pull on the loops to make sure the connections are snug and then attach the ropes. I secured my kayak for the first time last week and travelled with peace of mind. I do have a roof rack which I purchased from another vendor. 08/04/2014
