This book is wonderful. My 3 yr old and I both love it. She loves the story so much that we actually act it out with her toys. The basic story is that turtle invites his friends over for lunch, but everyone thinks they will hate the seaweed soup... until they try it. My daughter finds it funny that the clam thinks turtle is mad at them for eating it all. Even if you put the math part aside, it's a great, simple story and very well written. The illustrations are cute and funny too. The educational aspect is an added bonus.

My daughter LOVES this book...as does my husband ;) It's turned into one of our staple bedtime books, it's loved so much! Very clever story and a fun learning tool.

This is such a wonderful, sweet story that goes way beyond math. The turtle is incredibly kind and unselfish, continuing to put his friends first, and his friends go out of their way not to hurt his feelings and so try his soup. It's also a nice reminder that your home doesn't have to be in perfect order to have your friends over!
