I have used many many expensive and some not so expensive styling products, but I always come back to Sebastian because it works! The texture is isnt greasy and the hold is fabulous...it lets me give my hair the speration needed for the textured look...

The Mud is very light, and easy to work with. It's expensive but worth the money. Great product for people with locs!

I'm not sure when I first used Sebastian Molding Mud, but the thing that impressed me most about it was that while I could style my hair, it didn't make my hair crusty and stiff.

While in its solid form Molding Mud is yellow and speckled once you work through it it is a very flexible, and mostly colorless.

The only fault of Molding mud is that is it water soluble, so if you get caught in a steady rain you'll be subject to the material dissolving and running down your face. I've only had this be a problem in significant rainstorms.

Terrible...I used to to give it a 5 star review...The best product ever...until recently.

I have been using MM since college in 1989. My hair is short and very fine and just a small amount (a little dab if you will) kept my hair looking neat and not frizzy.

The manufacturing process has gone awry (apparently). MM now has a grit in every unit. This grit is like large grains of sand that cannot be removed. The grains make your hair look like you have dandruff. Its terrible...because this was such a great product. And to answer the obvious question: Yes, I have bought this in multiple stores over the past 18+ months...in Illinois, Southern CA and TX. I was hoping it was a small batch problem but it isn't.

One note: the packaging that is shown in the picture is NOT the current packaging. Current packaging is a small, round black container. If the product shipping is the one pictured above, I would think it would be an older batch and OK. I used that packaging for years and it was fine.

Love using Sebastian Molding Mud. It shapes and holds hairstyle without being stiff. It also has a very light fragrance that doesn't linger on the hair. Have used it for a long time with both long and short hair styles. I would recommend it for anyone.

She did not complain, that means the molding mud is OK.
