People tell me my nails look great all the time and they think they look professionally done. I think this is largely because of the glossy and clear finish I get from Seche Vite--though I will take credit for the years of experience, but a manicure or pedicure won't look professional no matter how good you are if you don't have a good top coat.
I've noticed that if I use and older bottle of Seche Top coat that I'll be more prone to cracking of the top coat, but that's only if I happen to pick up a bottle that is over a year old. Just be sure to keep a fresh bottle on hand and close it tightly, and this should help extend the life of your top coat.
As far as the one reviewer who complained of chips, perhaps the bottle of top coat she used was an old one. I'm not sure, but I do my own nails every week and don't have any problems with chipping (unless I'm doing hardcore work, in which case ANY polish would chip). If you're tough on your nails you may want to also use "chip skip," which is an OPI product.
One final note, as top coats do, this one does tend to absorb some of your nail color. For instance red polish might tint your bottle of top coat a light red. If you don't always use the same color of polish, I'd recommend cleaning your applicator brush after using the top coat (with polish remover). Otherwise, next time you go to do a french manicure it might have swirls of red in it.
I know people everywhere will tell you how fantastic their 'can't live without' cosmetic is, but this is different. This truely and honestly is the best top coat in the entire universe. It honestly is and you really have to give it a go. Without kidding, within two - three minutes of having applied this to two color coats of polish, you will be able to drive, run your fingers through your hair, put a cd in the player etc etc. And sheet marks at night??? A thing of the past with this. Even if you paint your nails a half hour to an hour before bed, there won't be a problem in the morning. This really has to be tried to be believed and I can't stop going on about the quality and professionalism of this product (I never can pronounce it, but I always use it). I wish all salons would use this so people out there get a chance to experience this amazing product for themselves. You'll be hooked and will never try anything else again.
Fast forward to when I finally got around to purchasing it. The first time I topped off my carefully executed manicure with this delectable treat, I knew I would never use another top coat ever again. It brushed on so smoothly, leveling everything off beautifully. As I continued to use this product over the course of dozens of manicures and pedicures, I grew to love it more and more. It would even out creases caused by my carelessness and still leave me with a glass-like finish that dried lickety-split.
Now, one thing I MUST point out is that, over time, this product will begin to thicken due to evaporation. It is IMPERATIVE that you DO NOT attempt to thin it out with acetone or nail polish remover. Seche has been able to pin-point the cause of this thickening and they created Seche Restore Restoration Thinner .5 fl oz (14 ml) to reverse the evaporation. Seche Restore is specifically formulated to replace only those ingredients that have evaporated, restoring the once thick mess back to its former glory.
So, be sure to tightly cap it after every use, and be prepared for it to thicken up. It will happen. It happens to ALL nail polishes and top coats. This one is no different. You'll probably just notice it sooner with the Seche Vite because you'll be using it ALL THE TIME!
-does not cause polish to shrink (like sally hansen)
-keeps nails from chipping
-dries VERY quickly
-smooths out ridges, bumps and mistakes
-super shiny and maintains its shine into day 4/5
-very easy to apply

Yasss this stuff is amazing! Seriously the best top coat I've found to date. The only downside is the smell, it's really strong. But other than that, this product is great!Published 9 hours ago by Annnna
