Play over and over and over and....,

After a long hiatus (9 years in the states)Adina Howard is back! I decided to buy the CD because I remembered how much fun the DO YOU WANNA RIDE disc was in '95. I was NOT DISSAPPOINTED, it has the slow jams and some uptempo tracks. I enjoyed playing it over and over. The only disappointment will be that she will not get the airplay nor recognition for a good album when everything else sounds the same. BUY IT (FOR MATURE LISTNERS)!!!

MASTERPIECE!,
This review is from: Second Coming (Audio CD)
This is Adina at her best. Hooking up with Missy and a few other folk, Adina brings the meaning of true baby makin' jams.
My personal favorites: OUTSIDE THE CLUB (10/10) - A hip-hop beat with strings. Very good. WANNABE (10/10) - Funny! Funny! Funny! Adina brings the raw truth about some dudes with a "La-La-La" beat. CRANK ME UP (10/10) - Missy gets on the track with A.H. about gettin' high and feelin' this dude. T-SHIRT & PANTIES (9/10) - This track was originally on "Welcome To Fantasy Island" but never made it's way to the states, only this song. one of the good F**kin' songs. NASTY GRIND (10/10) - The 1st and last single of this album. Adina vibes to a guitar strummed song about nobody doing it like her. Another good baby makin' song. BUTTNAKED (10/10) - WITH A CHIRP LIKE SOUND AND PIANO NOTES, ADINA IS BLUNT AND HONEST IN THIS TRACK. "YOUR BODY'S SO BANGIN' WE DON'T NEED NO PROTECTION TONIGHT." THE ULTIMATE BABY MAKIN' SONG. The whole album is good, but those are the top tracks. If you want some kids, get this c.d.

I dont understand what some of the other reviewers are talking about.I dont think they even listened to the album Adina is back and yes what she has to say in her songs are more adult than other cookie cutter R&B singers but she never gets to the lil kim Trina level Track 1 Outside(The Club): Adina sings about going home with a guy after being at the club (4/5)Party type of track not nasty at all Track 2 Wanna Be: Track about wanna be thugs trying to holla and act like they got money. Another fast track with a nice beat (4/5) again not nasty Track 3 Dont Wait up: Smooth track About Adina not coming home cause shes getting with her other man.(5/5) About sex but not vulgar its adult themed but she says stuff "like taste my pie" when she could be sayin nastyer things Track 4 Crank me up: My favorite song basically about chillin and smokin out and crusin.(5/5) Missy wrote this track and its Fire Track 5 What you need:Adina sings about how she has what a man want (her body/sex) so he better have what she wants (diamond rings shopping sprees)(3/5)Ok track Track 7 Nasty Grind: First single Sexy slow song I love it Reminding evryone shes a freak and she knows it.(5/5) Nice song and yes its about sex but its very emotional Track 8 Buttnaked: Adina sings about layin with her man naked and how beautifull he is next to her (5/5)Another nice slow jam Track 9 Its not over: Duet with a male R&B singer Adinas voice sounds real powerfull on here The song is about Adina findin out her man cheated(5/5) Track 10 Lets roll: Slow Jam about sex some sexual enuendo but nothing too nasty(5/5) Track 11 That Man:Slow Jam Real Nice I Love this song its like something Witney would have sang back in the day. She sings about her man who she is soo in love with and even though hes not perfect hes her man (5/5) Beautifull Track 12 Say what you want: Slow Jam Adina sings about a girl tellin her lies and tring to confuse her but she aint fallen for it.(5/5) Nice Track Missing (bonus Track)Song about missing a man(4/5) Adinas voice is way better than alot of these so-called R&B princesses and her songs are definately for an adult audience but nothing offensive. People have sex... Get over it. Its a Great CD

Adina IS BACK!!!!,

I love this cd and I could not wait until it came out! It really irks me that people are hating on her she is not the only one singing about sex and I could see if it was uncouth the way she does it but it is not. And even though T-shirt and panties is old it still be cranking I was so siced they put it on this album because I can not recall ever seeing a single for this so that was a plus for me and besides anything Jamie Foxx writes is the bomb to me. I think she also needs to be promoted better. It makes me laugh when people says that all she talks about is sex but these same haters will scream like little girls if they met her in person!!!

Adina is back after years away with her fans like me egerly awaiting any music from her. Ive been a big adina howard fan from day 1 and she made another great C.D.The differenc between this cd and her 1st one is that this one contains a little bit more more uptemo songs ,they are decent to me.They put 2 old songs on it form her unreleased 2nd album. The songs are t-shirt and panites and crank me up.But the best thing is her slow songs wich is her specailty. They come on at the end and they wont dissappoint you.I like songs#9 wich is duet with her a some new r&b singer, and lets roll. But this is overall a good cd and I hope it gets the air play it deserves.

This Cd is off the chain. Everyone should go and get it. It has been a long time since I could actually play every song on a CD and listen all the way through without skipping to the next song. Every song is a hit. To all you baby makers get ready you are in for some good music to make love to or to get your freak on. Oh and to the guys Adina left a suprise for you in the Cd. The Cover of her CD speaks for itself.

Adina who? Miss Howard no longer retains a big time record deal with a major label. She packed her bags and strutted over to an independent label and constructed "The Second Coming." While Adina is very extroverted with her sexuality, she still knows how to entice. Given this day and age, many r&b females don't have that immense gift, so they come off sounding contrived and over the top. This doesn't mean that Adina's album is a classic. While up-tempo grooves like "Outside" and "Don't Wait Up" showcase her versatility, Miss Howard SHINES on the slow jams "Nasty Grind" and "T-Shirt and Panties." They are beautiful tracks exuding strong sensuality and Adina's crisp ad warm vocals. As a side note: T-shirt and Panties and Crank Me Up are from her sophmore effort Welcome to Fantasy Island.Unfortunately, the last portion of Adina's album does tend to wane. Many listeners will have a hard time skipping the tracks Nasty Grind and T-shirt and Panties- i'm not lying, they are amazing tracks. Adina should have followed the formula throughout the album, but of course doesn't. Miss Howard will most likely never garner any red-hot fame as she did with her one and only hit "Freak Like Me" back in 95. Once again, that is unfortunate, because she posseses a raw and sexually unapologetic edge over many r&b divas in existence today. In reponse to a members inquiry about where to find the album- I recommend Media Play or Sam Goody. (Independent releases tend to be hard to find and can run quite high in price.)

Adina's Back !!!,

This is a wonderful album. It's sexual as she always is, but its sensual and loving as well. I was very impressed with her vocals and the material. I didnt hear about this album until recently and I had to get it. I had to search from store to store in order to find the CD. I hate the way she is being marketed. Her video only gets played after 12 on MIdnight Love on BET. I never hear any of her songs on the radio. What is the problem !! There are plenty of possible hit singles on this album. I can't believe she is not getting any airplay. The beats are phat and songs are tight. Among my personal favorites are " Outside (the Club)", "Crank Me Up", Nasty Grind" and "That Man" to name a few.
It's good to hear from Adina after such a long hiatus, since the record company did not release her 1997 collaboration " Welcome To Fantasy Island" Which I am still trying to get my hands on. If you liked Adina's debut " Do You Wanna Ride", you will not be dissapointed with The Second Coming.

Adina is back!,

I took the time to really listen to this album and was happily surprised. If you are looking for a really nice, slow groove, funky kind of record, then this is for you. Adina demonstrates a lot of growth and maturity on this album (unlike the child who wrote the immaturish review listed earlier) and it is reflected in her voice and song selection. I have played this cd for several of my friends without telling them the artist and they all were shocked when they learned it was Adina. I purchased three copies of this cd; one for the car, one for the stereo and one for my girl. My advice, listen to it in the store and form your own opinion - - you'll be surprised. Adina, do your thang and never mind the haters.
