5.0 out of 5 stars More than Incredible., March 29, 2003

I first heard of this band about two years ago by a friend who loved Hatebreed and Fury of Five...she handed me this CD to listen to, it took me a few days before the CD made it into my car...but when it did...My eyes were opened. It felt like I was shot in the chest...this CD contains so much raw energy and power. Here's a rundown of the CD.

1. Soldier- An awsome hardcore song with a great Jazzy breakdown at the end...the end is my personal favorite part of the song.

2. First Born- once again an awsome hardcore song, with a nice break down around the end...deep and personal lyrics.

3. Dirty Jer-Z- An awsome song about growing up on the streets, deep lyrics with an incredible guitar/base/drum beat.

4. Father's Marathon- A good song, but probably my least favorite on the CD...though it's still good.

5. Guaranteed- This song got me heavily into the band, with the piano beat in the background driving the song...the lyrics are passionate...second favorite song on this cd.

6. Pacemaker- A good song, not my personal favorite...but still awsome!

7. Stranglehold- This is probably one of the top five best songs by E-Town Concrete...whenever I would fight with anyone I would throw this song on and relax...I can relate to the lyrics easily in this song. Very mellow, not as heavy or hard as the other songs.

8. Sick World- I like this song alot...but it's not one of my favorites.

9. Shaydee- I love these lyrics, they describe how I feel about alot of people who I use to know. Best part of the song is anthony's lyrics...top notch!

10. Weak Link- Awsome acoustic beginning...gets heavy towards the middle of the song, awsome drum beat!!!

11. Phoenix- This is THE BEST song by far by E-Town Concrete, (With the exception of "The Heart of the Wolves") The pheonix has the deepest lyrics I personally feel anthony has EVER written...AWSOME TRACK.

Get this CD...trust me, it's well worth the cost you pay for it...and get "The Renaissance" when that comes out on April 15th...that CD tops this CD...but until then, you should still check this on out.

{PEACE}

5.0 out of 5 stars UNBELIEVABLE, June 9, 2004

I first saw E. Town Concrete at a small venue in Harrisonburg, VA.
That night they were the second band of a three band set. Five-Pointe-O, who i also recommend opened, followed by E. Town, and then Mushroomhead. I was ready to leave after hearing E. Town.
They only played 4 songs but After the first song i was hooked. When they closed with SHAYDEE which is my favorite of theirs, i had no need to hear Mushroomhead. I bought the album that night and it hasn't left my disc changer since. That was two years ago.

Anything melodic and hardcore is just a ridiculous combo. DeLux on the guitar is just damn-well good. Anthony Martini, id say, is the best lyricist i've ever heard of any genre. Martini's versitality is quite nutty as well. He sings, screams, and even lays down some rhymes. My favorite band and one of my favorite records.

4.0 out of 5 stars interesting..........., May 7, 2003

I admire how this band goes from one extreme to another. They have songs that could almost pass for death metal, and in the same song, have a jazz bridge (like the first song). They have all elements. Alternative, rap, metal, death, jazz, blues. Very unique in some aspects, however maybe this is there down fall, only song 4 stands out in my mind at the moment, amazing double bass drum, but some will say some of these songs tend to have that sound alike quality to them, even though they are diverse in the types of music they play. Maybe its the format that sounds the same, or the timing... but this is why I gave it 4 instead of 5. I like it because it is angry enough though

E-Town is what P.O.D. tries to be. If you like P.O.D., then you will love this cd and forget that P.O.D. even existed. This cd contains a combination of hard hard metal, jazz, and rapcore complemented with some of the deepest lyrics you will ever hear. This cd has not left my cd player since I bought it. I strongly recommend buying it if you haven't already. Unfortunately there are no samples to judge it by and the only samples for this group are from their new, lame cd that no one I know even bothered to buy. Take my word for it, this cd is good.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best CD ever., June 14, 2000
This review is from: Second Coming (Audio CD)
This is definitely my favorite CD, I listen to it all the time, and it's gonna be that way for a loooong time. As incredible as their other CD's are, this one tops 'em. Whether you're big into hardcore or just slightly into it, you have to buy this. If you're more of a Limp Bizkit type person...believe me, them guys ain't $hit compared to E-Town. If you like Limp, you'd love ETC, no doubt. The vocals go back and forth a lot...really pi$$ed yelling one second, then rapping the next. They pull it off great and they're very talented and know what they're doing. If every one of the songs came on a seperate CD, I'd buy all of them. That's how good they are.

5.0 out of 5 stars do your thing baby, continue to shine!, June 5, 2007
This review is from: Second Coming (Audio CD)
ETC Second Coming is one of the best albums Ive ever heard. Its still one of my favs and I listen to it at least once a week. Dirty Jer-Z is basicly my favorite song. Ant on the mic just rips it up, and the whole band in general is just "more than incredible." Their recordings are great but if you could have caught a show you would really see how hype and energenic they can be. I miss these guys alot and are one of the best hardcore bands to come out of the East Coast and always will be. If you like rap, hip hop, hardcore, metal, whatever if you like music give this album a go. Buy this album! You wont be disappointed.

this band is so amazing. it's inexplicable. I just saw them with hatebreed last night and I was so blown away, I picked up this cd from the merchandice table and absolutely love it. I can't stop listening to it. it goes in my car everywhere I go, it falls asleep with me, it is playin on my computer right now. my favorite track is definitely stranglehold, due to my ability to associate with the lyrics..."FORGET YOU GOD, YOU NEVER ANSWERED MY CALL"...blows me away. when he is singing it, he is so amazingly passionate on stage, it's something I've never seen in a live show before. NEVER. I don't know why people can even say ETC and korn or limp in the same sentence...it's nothing alike. nothing at all. ETC is straight hardcore with some rapping (which is more like slow-paced new york hip hop, not that whiny fast stuff that fred durst tries to do). his voice is outstanding, probably the most powerful roar I've ever heard. singers like maynard and corey from slipknot don't even touch the power I hear in anthony martini's voice. jamie from hatebreed comes close, but anthony has a demon in his throat and he lets it out. I could go on, but you'll just have to give it a listen. check out pacemaker and stranglehold...both amazing songs.
