Tightly written novel of warfare 6000 years ago,

The is a wonderful book. I sat down to read for a half hour or so, and burned dinner because I couldn't put it down until I was finished. Being a writer myself, I am extremely critical of what I read, especially SF &F. I forgot all about criticism within the first ten pages. I guarantee you that if you pick this one up you will not put it down willingly. I don't want to give anything away, but this has a killer ending

As you get to know the characters better, you are able to enjoy the story better. The romance (not at all mushy mush)betweeen the two main characters (Launa and Jack), is so, aaa, how to put it, romantic.

This book was different from anything I have ever read. I enjoyed the book. It was one of the first books I've read where I seriously had no idea what would happen next. Mike writes well. l was surprised at a few of the developments in the story, but that's what really made the book stand above the last few books I've read - it wasn't predictable

A Good Read and Worthy Sequel,

At the close of the first book Jack and Launa had changed the world enough that only 60% of humanity dies instead of all living things; the mission continues. Kaul tries to talk with the Kurgans and avoid the all out war that seems the only possible course of action. He is tortured and mutilated for his efforts. Jack and Launa try to find a way to turn the Godesses people into an army with out repeating the mistakes from their own time. Anita becomes a bigger problem than the Kurgans, and then we get a surprise ending. This was money well spent. |
