I took my two teenagers to see Reliant K in concert and "Ruth" opened for them. I had never heard of them before the concert. We all really enjoyed them in concert so I ordered this CD. Interestingly enough, we listen to this CD more than we listen to Reliant K anymore. They have an alternative style, catchy tunes, and good stories set to music that is contemporary and modern, and have a "live" sound that is reflected in their concerts. My family hopes they will continue to record and stay true to their sound, meaningful lyrics, and conveying this passionately through their music.

Great, uplifting debut,
By Mark (CT) - See all my reviews

I bought this CD a while ago after hearing "Cross the Line" on the radio and have not regretted doing so. The genre is along the lines of Christian (strong emphasis on the Christian) pop/rock. The singer (Dustin Ruth) has a great voice and seems to have passion for what he does. The band definitely has talent, and the songs are quite catchy. I took half of a star away from my final score because some of the lyrics are a bit bland at times and could have been improved upon (though this is not too detrimental a problem). I took the other half of a star away because a little after half-way through the album, the songs start to slow down and seem kind of repetitive. Still, Ruth has created a debut album that is worth looking into, particularly if you are looking for Christian-based, uplifting pop/rock music.
