Dominic Miller has a variety of experience playing everything from heavy rock to pop to jazz and has played with Phil Collins on his CD "But Seriously", Sting on the CD "Ten Summoner's Tales" and toured for over two years with Karl Wallinger (formerly of Waterboys fame) and his new band World Party.

Second Nature is Miller's second CD following his debut "First Touch". Like "First Touch", this CD is best catergorized as smooth jazz although it does blend some latin and classical styles into the jazz compositions.

While Miller is an accomplished guitarist, having played for 25 years, the disc is not heavily oriented toward his playing. The best track on the disc is the latin flavored "Truco" which was co-written by bassist Pino Palladino. It's hard to find fault with this disc, its a can't miss for smooth jazz fans.

If you own Dominic's 1st cd "First Touch" and you enjoyed it, this cd is for you. This CD is very similar to his first cd in that it's the same style of music, but the songs are very different. Each song tells it's own story. Dominic is a brilliant guitarist, so if you enjoy listening to beautiful guitar music - you NEED this CD. I am not sure if I would say I enjoy this CD moreso than his first one, but I listen to this one more. Some of the songs may seem repetitive, but if you listen to each song you begin to hear that each and every song is very different. This is not hard rock guitar music. (I wasn't sure what to expect when I got his first cd knowing he had been performing and writing with Sting, as well as playing session guitar for a myriad of musicians). This is great music to relax to. Hope you enjoy!

As a long-time Sting fan, I have enjoyed the musical talent of Dominic Miller for many years, but only recently purchased Second Nature. This is a beautiful, deliciously-crafted CD that shows the true musical genius, Dominic Miller. There are songs on this album that literally moved me to tears. It just doesn't get any better than this!!

This is a master piece for those who likes for guitar musical notes.....it feels like the guitar have the voice of the angels on earth and no need to speak for transmit the author's fellings.

Like "First Touch" before it, "Second Nature" is an exquisitely, sometimes achingly, beautiful album, and the songs become more beautiful to me each time I listen to them. Although jazz is his solo genre, Dominic can play any kind of music and rock with the best of them (check out Sting's "Demolition Man" CD for the live tracks recorded in Italy, including "Shape of My Heart" or "The Brand New Day" DVD). Sting is extremely talented and I'm a big fan, but he simply would not be the same anymore without Dominic. He always adds something unexpected and special to every song. ...

I think it's an album made by a guitarist for guitarists. But there are also pieces which everybody can appreciate. Lots of styles and influences are played an practiced by Dominic and his friends. It's a joy to listen to professionals! To end I want to say that I love the way the album is recorded. Sometimes during listening you have the feeling the musicians were playing right in front of you.
