Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

Whether your disorder is life-threatening, chronic, painful, annoying, or merely embarrassing, there are usually several alternative treatments. In twenty-eight chapters covering every common condition, Dr. Isadore Rosenfeld offers detailed information on why, when, and where to ask for a second opinion -- and how you can possibly avoid unnecessary surgery.

You need a second opinion when:

You develop a lump in the thyroid gland and your doctor advises immediate surgery.

You sinusitis is being treated with frequent irrigation and drainage.

Your fatigue and lassitude are said to be caused by low blood pressure.

You have cramps in your legs at night and your feet are always cold. You're told it is poor circulation.

Your ulcer is not responding to medical treatment and psychotherapy is advised.

These and many other medical situations require a Second Opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Informative and Confidence Inspiring, February 24, 2000
This review is from: Second Opinion (Paperback)
I read "Second Opinion" for the first time about 4 years ago. What I found to be very appealing about the book was Rosenfeld's down-to-earth presentation and his obvious care for the afflicted. The book is organized in brief, to the point modules which let you read at your pace. The book is what I call easy reading. Keeps your interest and doesn't numb you with over much medical terminology. I would recommend every person read this book even though it is long in the tooth. Many things we learn ten or twenty years ago are still good and relevant today. Wisdom never expires. It only is rejected by fools as worthless.
