Book Description

As the reality of the untimely death of King Jastark (John Stark) sinks in, it is up to the wizard and witch council’s to fight back the dark Wizard-Elf, Ulicoth. At least until the dead king’s son Drago (Peter Stark) can take the throne and fulfill The Second prophecy.
Will the fact that Drago was trained as an ordinary wizard and raised in Earth (the Normal world of man) stand in the way of him being the king the second prophecy says he'll be?
As the young king has just turned sixteen, his true powers have reached their peak. His luck goes from bad to worse as he has an unorthodox entrance into the mystical world of Dorminya, and Ulicoth will stop at nothing to track down and kill the boy king, and take over Dorminya forever.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

I started writing in 2002, it was when I was working in the injection moulding department of a factory that I had the Idea to write The Second Prophecy. I was on my lunch break, and as it was night shift I was on my own in the canteen when it came to me. I had always had a great imagination, so I spent the second half of the eight hour shift adding to the idea for The Second Prophecy, and when I got home I sat down in front of my computer and started writing.

I took a long break after writing my novel. It was mainly because I couldn't find a publishing company to take it on, although I got good reviews from everyone who read it. Even the son of my English tutor, who I have never met(the son, not the English tutor). The truth is, I lost heart that I would get it published through conventional means. Then I read about Amazon letting people publish their work for free, and thought I would try it.

I Have more than a few ideas for more stories, and I'm looking forward to writing and publishing them all.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun alternate world February 27, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
R. Alan Ferguson is new to publishing, and his prose does mark him as a newbie. However, he has a vivid imagination, and many of his story ideas are very good. Indeed, this fantasy includes some very unique details and many great place and character names. He also hints at a lot of thoughtful back story, which gives the setting a history and veracity.

Within, the land of Dorminya lies under the threat of the Dark Lord, Ulicoth. But a prophecy, spoken by a late, great king, promises hope. But do prophecies always come true? To those living close to the shadow, it seems not. Those with longer sight, however, still watch for a savior. And as The Second Prophecy spans two generations, this world of magical creatures must wait long and navigate many twists and turns to see if their expectations will be fulfilled.

If the word "prose" isn't in your general vocabulary and you like adventure, magic and alternate worlds, you'd probably enjoy a trip to Dorminya.

I recieved a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

The Second Prophecy
The Dragdani Prophecies Part One
By R. Alan Ferguson

John Stark has been exiled to the "normal" world where he has married and created a life for himself, but one day a great wizard arrives to tell him that he is no ordinary wizard he is the last remaining descendant of the only Dragon/Wizard/Elf and he must return to his home to defeat the Evil Ulicoth. Things do not go as planned though as the King John Stark is murdered bringing about a reign of terror. When it comes to light that his wife is with child all they can do is wait for their savior to be born and come into his full powers. But Peter Stark is not like his father or any other that has come before him, he is something more powerful than their world has ever seen.

From the beginning this story captivates your attention; it is truly an imaginative tale full of creatures rarely used in novels to the most creative invention of beings. The story itself is fast paced with so many things involved I was afraid I would not be able to do it justice in my synopsis. The only problem I found is that there are quite a few typos, such as though instead of through, though they are small mistakes it gets a little annoying if not for this then this would be one of the best books I have read in a long time.
I was sent a free copy of this book for review.
