Book Description

Felicity wants control over her life. Never again will she succumb to the charm of a man like Tony who refused to marry her when she became pregnant and has never asked about his son. But now he's back and playing havoc with her senses. Major Sheridan doesn't understand why his fiancee jilted him and married another man while he lay bleeding on a battlefield. But he's determined to get answers.

This book was previously published as The Wedding Affair by Karen L. King (Kensington Publishing Corp.)

Longer version:

Returning from the Peninsular war disillusioned both by men's violence and the infidelity of women, Major Anthony Sheridan finds himself engaged in duel. But he's only mildly interested in the tale of the cursed pistols—weapons that will reportedly bring the winner true love. He gave up on romance when his fiancee, Felicity Greystone, married another man while he lay bleeding on a Spanish battlefield. Yet a chance encounter with the now-widowed Felicity Merriwether arouses in Tony a desire he'd vowed never to feel again...

As far as Felicity is concerned, Tony abandoned her and left her pregnant with his child, a child badly treated by the unkind older man who married Felicity in her time of need.

Their son Charles is desperate to know who his real papa is. When Tony shows up again like a bad penny, she finds the flames of her desire were never extinguished. She wishes to be far, far away from his devastating charm, but how can she deny her son a relationship with his father? In fact, she finds she is pleased by Tony's attention to her—despite the bad blood between them. But the rift will never mend unless they learn to trust each other again...

1.0 out of 5 stars no chemistry December 14, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
i could not feel the love or the chemistry between the hero and the heroine. their chemistry ran out. they were going through the motion because they have nothing better to do. too many other people in the book with their problems. too many events going on, but still the book failed to hold interest.

More About the Author

Katy Madison writes Gothic romances for the Avon Imprint at HarperCollins, Western romances for Harlequin Historicals as Kate Madison and writes contemporary Romantic Suspense as K.T. Madison. She received a nomination for a Holt Medallion for her first book, THE WEDDING DUEL published by Kensington books.

Katy has always loved stories. As a child she was always lugging a book around. At the age of eight, after having gone through over a hundred Nancy Drew mysteries, all the Laura Ingalls Wilder books--at least twice--and many others including her full weekly allotment of library books, Katy went to her mother and begged for a new book to read. Her frustrated mother handed her a romance novel. Katy fell in love with the romance genre. She quickly found where her mother hid the rest and began sneaking them out to read. She cut her eyeteeth on books by Georgette Heyer and Mary Stewart, not to mention dozens of Barbara Cartland's.

Katy makes her home with her family and two cats on a tree-lined street in the Midwest. She thinks there is nothing better than a curling up in front of the fireplace and escaping into a good book while a storm rages outside. Except maybe the beach without the storm, plenty of sun, and, of course, a good book.
