Editorial Reviews

Review

"Second Steps" is an enchanting and serene quest into the world of romance...a sheer beauty, intoxicating and classic. --Maurice Edwards E.O.M. Oct.11,2004

Product Description

All the songs on "Second Steps" were written and performed by Rada. Her classical background and innate love for the piano are reflected in her song format and her romantic melodies. Her music has been described as cinematic in flavor. " We're Free" and "Little Things" were both inspired by poems. Songs such as "A Solemn Beauty" were inspired by the beauty of a simple lyrical passage."Taken Away" was inspired by a story that involved the loss of our troops on our shores....that somehow they were taken away in an untimely and tragic event. Many of her other gorgeous melodies are inspired by the beauty of southern Colorado and the tranquility of her in- home studio and her Kawai. Her music is that of a new-age style yet also classical. Every song is written at her piano. Other timbres on the cd are also performed by Rada on a synthesizer with the exception of the accordian.

1.0 out of 5 stars A talented composer, but not so talented as a pianist ............, April 13, 2011

This review is from: Second Steps (Audio CD)
There are some lovely tunes here written by Rada, but unfortunately she can't play piano well enough to make them what they should be, and that is doubly true of the limited synths that she uses.

She usually plays too fast, with too little nuance. She is an enthusiastic amateur in a world bursting with talented professionals. Composing is her real talent, not playing. Rather than sending her cds to radio stations hoping to get them played, and never finding out that she is not a good enough player to justify that exposure, she should be sending the cds to successful piano recording artists and hoping some of her tunes are picked up. And even more importantly, she should be sending them to film and TV producers everywhere, because film and TV is where her compositions can really shine.
