Fighting bitterness over the 8 wasted years since their broken engagement, both Emily and Kevin still have an unquenched love for each other. Carol Steward illustrates well the emotions on both sides and the underlying struggles of their unforgotten love. But it takes a child, not their own, to teach Kevin what is most important in life. You'll want to read the book in one sitting.

When Kevin MacIntyre sees his ex-finacee after a bittersweet 8 years. It was hard not to look at her twice. She was still just as lovely as when he last saw her. Trying to hide his emotions, not without success. Emily was still that serious minded young lady that went to medical school. She decided to take a job near her home, knowing full well she had to see her ex-finacee again. She wanted to get away from him, but with the hospital board signed Kevin to make the new clinic. She was force to see him everyday. Kevin was still doing what he wanted to do, and he got to see Emily too. Although they couldn't avoid each other long, the love that never died 8 years ago was burning high and strong. When Kevin fell in an accident, he had to rely on Emily. She was still the same sweet loveable lady he always knew. Now they were back together and he was given a second chace around.
Great for all ages, a must have in anyone collection.
