It's More than Just Boxing,
By A Customer
This review is from: Seconds Out (Paperback)
I read the first page and knew right away that this book would be a 'page turner'. It's more than just boxing - - it highlights a strong family connection between two very different brothers, overcomes culture/race differences, insights on the political games and favors - - and all this surrounds the boxing ring . .In short, you don't need to be a boxing fanatic to enjoy this book.Great Job by Jay Mwamba - and we look forward to the next book . .

When is the movie coming out?,

This review is from: Seconds Out (Paperback)
The pleasure of reading a book by a writer who is both new and talented lies largely in the fresh ride that his imagination can take us on. Such is the case here, with this gripping tale of boxing and politics by Jay Mwamba. The story lines are exciting, and the tension is palpable as we follow the various characters through the twists and turns of their lives, wondering if disaster or success will strike at each juncture. This book grows increasingly difficult to put down from chapter to chapter, through to the very last page. Well done, Mr. Mwamba - I was looking for a entertaining, yet somewhat plausible work of fiction. I found much more in this book. I highly recommend it to others.

Boxing Classic,
By Ramon Perez (New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Seconds Out (Paperback)
This is a book destined to become a cult classic in the threadbare realm of boxing literature. The drama is palpable, the suspense will leave you on the edge of your seat, and the twists are out of a great mystery story. For fight fans, this is as close to being in an actual ring as you can get without tasting leather. As advertised, it's gritty but real. Don't blink!

Seconds Out Reels You In,
By Cee Jay (Georgia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Seconds Out (Paperback)
You will not be able to put this book down once you start reading it. From the beginning, the author pulls you into the boxing world of handsome, dredlocked Sonny Green and his entourage which includes his brother, a trainer, a manager, and a beautiful girl named Maria. Throw in a back love story and the underworld side of boxing, and you've got a mesmerizing read. Add Seconds Out to your "must read" list.
