It's a shame they are not recognized yet,

the silencers are an excellent band, as good [or even better] as U2 and i don't understand why they do not get the success they deserve. seeing them playing live is a treat, and i have never been disappointed by any cd they ever released. my all time favorite remains 'dance to the holy man', this album is a jewel. i wish it would be easier to find their cds here in the US.

I have to agree with the other reviews I just read. The Silencers are a great band with incredible songs. I have to say that I sort of forgot about them for a while, since I got the last CD years ago. But just today, I heard "I can feel it" on the radio (surprise!) and tonight, I will have to listen to their music again. Awesume band!!!

Yes everybody this is a great album! I've been following the Silencers for over 10 years and if you think this deserves 5 stars you should rush out and buy "Blues For Buddha" ! There aren't enough stars in the Universe for this. My outstanding track is Razor Blades of Love

BRILLIANT Scottish pop album!,

I'll make this short and sweet. This is one of the best intelligent guitar pop/rock albums I've ever heard - EVERY song is a winner. This is what it would have been like if the Beatles had been in Scotland, starting out in the mid-90s.
If you think you'd like the fine pop crafting of Aimee Mann (circa "Whatever" and "Everything's Different Now") by way of Glasgow, then GET THIS ALBUM! Chiming Rickenbacher guitars, loud VOX amps, brilliant lyrics & harmonies, interesting arrangements, choruses & even verses that are so catchy they'll be in your head for WEEKS! Powerful, emotional & honest. This is one of my all time favorite TOP 10 ALBUMS OF ALL TIME.

Years of pleasure,
This review is from: Seconds of Pleasure (Audio CD)
What can I say? I bought this album when it first came out, and it is still one of my all time greats. My personal favourite tracts are "Cellar of Dreams" and "Life Can be Fatal", however even this does not compare to the live experience. Catch them if you can!

I can't stop listening to this C.D.,

The quality of the music on this C.D. is incredible. The Silencers still remain one of if not the best "undiscovered" bands. Jimme O'Neill writes incredible songs. There is so much diverisity in the tunes on this C.D. that at times it is hard to believe that they came from just one person. For the first time buyer this is a good C.D. to start with and work backward, if you can find any of their other releases. Which along that lines if anyone knows where to find more info on the band or would like to start a grass roots uprising of support for the fellows feel free to email me.

The Silencers are fantastic. They've got a style all their own, and they've mastered it quite well. U2 only WISHES they were this good.

From their first album " The Silencers " going back to Fingerprinz, Jimme O'Neill, Cha Burns et al, They have produced a number of compelling recordings. A wonderfully distinctive sound that incorporates tight celtic tinged arrangements with lyrics that speak truths about local, personal, political truths while hopeful and encouraging. Just a terrific band! I was fortunate to see Fingerprintz twice. The Silencers is the band that I have never seen that I will always say " best band I never saw!) Anyway, if interested, get the first four albums, if you like music you wont be dissaipointed. Thank you all..

Silencers is the best group of musicians that fits in a category all their own, the lyrics (profound) the music (incredible) I guess they are " rock, alternative " let me put it this way, U2 sounds like THEM with more variety of sound & musicianship their music will take a dreary day & lift you up like no other group I know.
