More About the Author

Max Elliot Anderson grew up as a reluctant reader. After surveying the market, he sensed the need for action-adventures and mysteries for readers 8 and up, especially boys.

Mr. Anderson was a producer of the nationally televised PBS special, Gospel at the Symphony that was nominated for an Emmy, and won a Grammy for the double album soundtrack. He won a best cinematographer award for the film, Pilgrim's Progress, which was the first feature film in which Liam Neeson had a staring role. He has produced, directed, or shot over 500 national television commercials for True Value Hardware Stores. Mr. Anderson owns The Market Place, a client-based video production company for medical and industrial clients. His productions have taken him all over the world including India, New Guinea, Europe, Canada, and across the United States.

Using his extensive experience in the production of motion pictures, videos, and television commercials, Mr. Anderson brings the same visual excitement and heart-pounding action to his stories. Each book has completely different characters, setting, and plot.

Seven books are published, with an additional twenty-eight manuscripts completed. Young readers have reported that reading one of Mr. Anderson's books is like being in an exciting or scary movie.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good story and more, July 15, 2005
This review is from: Secret of Abbott's Cave (Tweener Press Adventure Series #6) (Paperback)
It doesn't seem like there are lot of good books for boys, and it's good to see someone giving them something interesting to read. Max Anderson's adventure has excitement, humor, and good lessons. I highly recommend this book, especially for kids who haven't caught on to the value and fun of reading, and might need something to get them started.

5.0 out of 5 stars Randy and his friends have formed a detective club, March 4, 2005
This review is from: Secret of Abbott's Cave (Tweener Press Adventure Series #6) (Paperback)
The latest title in Max Elliot Anderson's "Tweener Press Adventure Series", Secret Of Abbot's Cave finds Randy and his friends have formed a detective club and pooled their resources to buy a police radio scanner. After learning of a bank robbery, they went on a camping trip and while exploring a cave, discover hidden loot from the robbery. Now they must figure out what the right thing to do is -- and deal with powerful temptations to the contrary. Secret Of Abbot's Cave is not only a rollicking good story, it has embedded within it some very good personal values for young readers to absorb.

5.0 out of 5 stars Secrets of Abbots Cove, February 25, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Secret of Abbott's Cave (Tweener Press Adventure Series #6) (Paperback)
A very well written book that offers good, moral reading for an age group that has very little available reading that builds character and is entertaining. Children do not get their imaginations stimulated with computer games and other electronic entertainment. We need more of these kinds of books for girls as well.
