2.0 out of 5 stars not so great...
I am a big fan of fear street books, and I have about 30 at home. This book and The Dare are my two least favorites. Maybe it's just because I've been reading these for so long, but I knew who the killer was on the first couple pages. It's so obvious that it's jealousy. My favorites are Silent Night, All Night Party, Sunburn, and the New Year's Party. Go get one of those...

4.0 out of 5 stars Found this book and was amazed by the cover!, February 13, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Secret Admirer (Fear Street, No. 36) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is one of the fear street books that I've been looking for for a long time. I finally found it at my local library and went nuts just thinking about what RL Stine did in this story to make it scary. Anyway, it's about a girl named Selena who finds a love of acting at her highschool and is always the star of the plays there. After one of the plays, she finds a bouquet of dead roses in her locker. She is "haunted" by a secret admirer who leaves behind a sticker of the sun on every one of his notes. No, I'm not going to give it all away, but I will tell you that the ending really surprised me. If you love RL Stine as much as I do, and you know how he likes surprises, you should find this book and be sure to think about it as you read.

4.0 out of 5 stars not scary but a good suspense, November 30, 2003

i have always love books by R. L. Stine and really enjoyed this one. One of the reason that i liked it so much is because i could picture myself as the main character as i love to act and am known for my acting skills at school. i prefer the more scary books but again, this was a good book. i'm usually really good at guessing the endings but didn't guess this one. Go Fig?

even though i guess i am considered too old to be reading his books i can't help myself. they are good to read right before i go to bed. i recommend all of R. L. Stine's books for young adults and the younger at heart such as myself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty awesome, January 6, 1999
By A Customer
Very good book!! Not very scary like some of R.L. Stine's books, but a really great plot!! ANd i was extremely surprised about who the killer was. Like all of his books, the killer is always the person you least suspect. I alwyas guess who it is, and think very carefully about my guess, but i'm ALWAYS wrong. And also, like all of his other books, something freaky happens at the end at every chapter. But this really was a great book!! I definitely recomend this to anyone who likes scary books that are very suspenseful and spooky, but not very gory.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can you spell S-T-A-L-K-E-R!!!???, August 31, 2007
This review is from: Secret Admirer (Fear Street, No. 36) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the one of the many books of the Fear Street series, and it's really good. Fear Street is a series about scary and/or supernatural events that happen to teenagers in a ficitional town called Shadyside. In this book, an attractive actress starts getting threats and terrible accidents and deaths are happening all around her. Who could be doing this? Her new college boyfreiend or her jealous ex? Someone else? This has a pretty good twist ending and gives a good taste of future books in the series.Pulitizer material it's not, but for young teens, or anyone wanting a quick thrilling read, this suits the bill just fine. It's one of the best books in the series!

3.0 out of 5 stars Meh, August 3, 2009
This review is from: Secret Admirer (Fear Street, No. 36) (Mass Market Paperback)
Selena has landed the lead in the school play and her popularity is sky high. Then she receives a present with a trhreatening content, and accidents start happening on the set. Some one doesn't like Selena very much.

I didn't like this one very much.
The protagonist is so conceited and doesn't see how she treats her friends. I simply couldn't root for this character.
As I finished the book, I almost felt ready to cheer for the purpetrator!

The plot is fairly good, though by no means among the best Fear Street books.
