Review

Praise for Love, Splat: "This heart-warming story should melt even the flintiest cynic. Scotton's frenetic illustrations are spot on and vivid enough to stroke. Buy this book for anyone you 'like more than fish fingers and ice-cream'!" Daily Mail "A very sweet story, beautifully illustrated." Norwich Evening News Praise for 'Russell the Sheep': 'Russell the Sheep is completely engaging and bound to become a star of the future.' The Bookseller 'This is the delicious tale of a sheep who can't sleep.' Daily Express

I've memorized the whole thing because I have to read it so much.

It is simplistic enough that he will be able to read it independently very soon.

My daughter and I were thrilled to see a new Splat book out. This time around, Splat has a mystery to solve! Somebody is stealing the ducks his dad made and returning them minus their beaks. Splat and Seymour pack a mystery solving bag and are off to search for clues. The special gadget used to catch the culprit is especially funny - my daughter and I shared a few laughs over that one! The book wraps up with a sweet ending and makes for another Splat the Cat hit!

We LOVE Splat the Cat in our house. My son pretends to be a spy, and I thought he would enjoy this book. Once again, Rob Scotton has another great Splat book. My son really enjoyed this book, and I think we read it every night for a week. Can't wait for the next great Splat adventure!

My husband is just finishing the FBI academy to be a special agent, and so our son loves to pretend he is in an academy as well. We have several other Splat stories and Russell the Sheep stories, so I thought "Secret Agent Splat" would be a book our son would love. Any child who loves games, puzzles and mysteries will love this story. As usual, Splat and Seymour find an adventure that ends in a heartwarming way.

My daughter has all of the Splat the cat books and this one doesn't disappoint. She loves anything about a secret agent, so the story was a good one as well.

Initially purchased for a young neice, we are keeping it for ourselves in anticipation of our son's birth in the spring (someone else had already bought it for her).

LOVE this book. The writing is creative and fun (even for the adults!), the illustrations are captivating, and best of all, the writing does not talk down to the child. If you are a parent looking for a book that maintains a draw for children while teaching them words not typically found in a new reader's vocabulary, then this book is for you. I look forward to purchasing more of the series for our son to grow up with.

This was a cute book. I bought it for my kindergarten-age grandson who is really into spy things. It is simplistic enough that he will be able to read it independently very soon.

Splat wants to solve the mystery of why his ducks' bills are going missing. The story didn't make a lot of sense - many of the characters just pop in with very little introduction, but then again, I haven't really followed the series. I loved Splat's rambling notes on his "cunning plan" to catch the culprit. There's a fun "top secret" duck code on the end pages that I think kids will dig.

We have all the previous Splat books, so we HAD to get this one. The story is a bit odd to me, but my three year old loves it, so I guess that's what counts. The illustrations are still lovely though, just like all the other books.
