5.0 out of 5 stars A Reasonable Theory, March 17, 2011
This review is from: Secret of the Ages: UFOs from Inside the Earth (Hardcover)
I was skeptical of the premise of this book, that certain types of UFO's originate from either large subterranean caverns, or from a Hollow Earth- a theory which has apparently existed for centuries and is not without scientific merit. Edmund Halley, discoverer of the famed comet, was among it's earliest proponents, and there have been certain photgraphs taken by remote-guided satelites, as well as by astronauts that would appear to show 'holes at the poles'. Far from being a wild flight of over-imaginative, groundless theory, the author presents his case in a very academically sound manner. There is an abundance of historical, mythological (which may itself be historical), scientific and circumstantial evidence that is difficult to explain away, and certainly does not fall into the category of sensationalism. If you don't mind the often close-minded views of orthodox science being challenged, and if you are willing to admit the possibility that the government (gasp) may not always be completely honest with it's citizens, I would strongly recommend this book- it's an admittedly bizarre theory (if you know nothing about it), but this book is a good introduction to an unjustly disregarded subject. It is something at least worthy of consideration and for all serious researchers of the 'UFO Problem' to draw their own conclusions on. It certainly gave me much food for thought.

1.0 out of 5 stars Conspiracy Theory Gone Mad!, May 13, 2006
This review is from: Secret of the Ages: UFOs from Inside the Earth (Hardcover)
This is a truly appalling book. It is based on the premise that the Earth is hollow, and that UFOs are based inside it, visiting us on the outside form time to time.
The logic is shaky, the evidence is selective, and the only thing that can be said for it is that it demonstrates that some people will, apparently, believe anything.
To be read for entertainment value only.
