Book Description

January 15, 2000
Samantha Eagleton and Winston Forbes are thirteen-year-old friends who live on Cape Cod in the the quiet resort town of Blue Fish Bay. Sam's father, who is chief of police, is away at a law enforcement convention, so she is staying with Winston and his mother. What should be the start of a relaxing vacation, however, turns into something more as Sam begins to see strange lights out on the Bay at night from her bedroom window. Lights that are right off the spit of land called Blue Fish Point

At first Sam is reluctant to make much out of this, but when the elderly woman she works for tells the story of a young girl who drowned on the Point over a hundred years ago and who's ghost some people claim to have seen, Sam's curiosity is raised. Dragging along a reluctant Winston, she begins to investigate, not stopping even when the threats begin. Is it a ghost or someone who is very human and up to no good? That's the question behind The Mystery of Blue Fish Point.

About the Author

Glen has been writing fiction for fifteen years concentrating primarily on mysteries for young people; five of his mysteries have been published in paperback by Harlequin. Glen tells us, "I think the fundamental point of mystery writing for both young people and adults is to develop complex characters and place them in puzzling and dangerous situations that capture the reader's imagination. A story that doesn't entertain is a story that has failed."

Glen has a PhD in Philosophy and teaches at a small college in western Massachusetts where he lives with his wife. In the past, among other things, he served in the army, worked in the business-side of an off-broadway theatre, and was a popular substitute teacher. All of those experiences have helped shape the types of stories he writes. Glen's hobbies include yoga, weightlifting, and (of course) reading mysteries.
