5.0 out of 5 stars srecret's out............, July 1, 2009
I expected it to to be a good book but L.J really tied this one up nicely. I have read some of her other books but this one is one of my favorites.
It picks up right where the other ones leave off, which is right after Cassie went with the twins to get pumpkins. I really love the subtle romance between her and Adam. I foud out that i really loved all of the 12 secret circle charcaters individually and you'll find something to relate to most of them.
Faye is still up to no good and the wants the skull's power for herself. but when because of Cassie's actions her own grandmother has an accident... Cassie stands up to Faye and refuses to be her "captive," as Faye put it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!!, April 3, 2009
The story is basically about Cassie and her single mother reluctantly moves from California to New Salem, Massachusetts, to take care of Cassie's grandmother. The local high school Cassie now attends is dominated by a very exclusive group of teens known as "the Club." It won't take the reader long to figure out that Club members are teen witches descended from the witches who survived the Salem witch hunts by leaving that town and starting their own.

This is a wonderful series! You won't regret trying it because it was great.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED!, January 20, 2011

There's no other words to express how I felt about these 2 books. I absolutely LOVED them. I found myself so caught up in them that hours had gone by and I didn't even realize it. I was actually sad when I finished them and already feel like re-reading them (yeah, sad...I know). I read both books in just 3 days. The story was told so well that you could almost believe this all existed. No unnecessary twists or turn...no silly "omg, that was the stupid thing I've ever read" moments...it was just so good. I loved every character in this book and none really got annoying like they do in some books.
I know the world is so caught up on the vampire band wagon at the moment and while I do like the Vampire Diaries, I think these books would be a great choice to "bring to life". (As long as it's not butchered by Hollywood)
No more rambling, I recommend these books!! Read them, you'll LOVE them!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME series!, January 22, 2009
LOVE L.J. Smith's writing!
I wish I had read these when there were first released and I was younger-LOL I was in college then. But I have found them now!
I loved the entire Secret Circle (trilogy) series and now miss the characters.
This is a trilogy originally divided between the 2 Secret Circle books (re-released).
Make sure you have BOTH books to read before you start.
I could not put them down and read them in 2 days.
You will want the second book to move right on to when you finish the first or you will be left hanging-LOL
Really though, I LOVED this series of books and am now reading L.J. Smith's Vampire Diaries books. Then on to her Night World series.

5.0 out of 5 stars the secret circle, July 11, 2011
I first read the original three books when they first came out back when I was in high school. I have read all of Smith's books that she wrote before leaving us all waiting for personal reasons. but these were the originals that got me hooked. Cassie is a wall flower and over the course of the books she blossoms into a powerful young witch. it is well worth the read. and for teens that don't like reading it can change their minds on curling up with a good book. I recomend also reading Night of the solstice. it is one of her early books.
