This CD contains a great sample of different composers, from pre-Baroque to contemporary. Depsite the title, many of these tracks appear in modern media besides your local classical radio station. I have heard orchestras play Arvo Part and this recording is as good as the live version. Buy this if youre looking for something that will set you apart from the Mozarts and Beethovens of the world...

This is an excellent sampler of relatively obscure classical music. Its only flaw is that the first selection is recorded at a very low level, so you have to turn the volume way up ... and then the next track comes blasting out, so you have to scramble to turn it down again. Aside from that, this CD is a winner, and a bargain-priced one at that!
