So, I tried this in New Orleans over a period of a week. It was hot. It was humid. I was caught in the rain on more than one occasion. And I walked everywhere. While the rest of me was a hot sweaty mess, my pits were fresh and dry. No sweat. No stink. And no icky white deodorant crumbs.

This reminds me a little of Certain-Dri, the old standby for those that sweat like a racehorse after winning the Kentucky Derby. Unlike Certain-Dri, this product is sticky and messy. However, it does not irritate the skin as Certain-Dri can. Put it on after a morning shower and it remains...

The directions indicate that one should turn the knob two clicks and apply. Apparently my pits are smaller than the average chick, as I only needed one turn of the wheel. It took a little effort and a few seconds to rub the deodorant into my skin, but nothing I'd consider excessive.

However, washing this stuff off is a bit of a challenge. You must not be stingy with the soap to really clean the antiperspirant off your skin.

Overall, this is a great antiperspirant/deodorant; perhaps even a must have for summer, especially if you wear sleeveless tops.

The antiperspirant/deodorant is a semi-solid. The product is pushed through holes in the top of the applicator when the wheel is turned. Additionally, a warning on the package indicates that people with kidney disease should consult their doctor before using the product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally a deodorant that works!, August 15, 2007
By
I've used Mitchum for years and yes they have the same amount of Aluminum Zirconium Trichlorohydrex GLY (20%) but something about this works better. It must be the other active ingredients in Secret Clinical Strength that puts it over the top.

Mitchum's slogan is "it's so effective you could skip a day". That is absolutely not true. I came home smelly at the end of every day. My husband smelled better than I did at the end of the day and he's in construction! It didn't even work for 1 day let alone 2! I never liked the wet gel feel either. (I considered trying men's deodorant but it has such a manly smell I figured people would notice.)

I've also tried prescription stuff and I didn't like it at all. It went on like a wet roll-on and it was sticky, irritating to my skin, and itchy. I have none of these issues with Secret Clinical Strength.

Since I bought Secret Clinical Strength I have no more odor problems! I'm amazed and so is my husband! I thought Mitchum was the best that I could do but now I've found something better! I'm saved from my embarrassment!

Take heart. It works and I'm not even following the directions of putting it on at night. I put it on after my shower in the morning, just one click for each arm, and it works just fine all day long, no need to reapply.

It's totally worth the extra money. For the skeptics - give it a shot, what do you have to lose? Thank God for this stuff!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I gave this product every opportunity to fail. I tested it by using it under one arm and my usual anti-perspirant deodorant under the other. I went to exercise class, went hiking, rode my horse and stayed in my pajamas all weekend without showering. I have used up the entire supply that was sent. I wanted to be absolutely sure. But it really is true. It's a better mousetrap. My old stand-by product failed miserably and this stuff kept me dry and smelling nice, even on a two-day cattle-drive. I am surprised, but convinced.

I just hope that whatever they are plugging my pores up with in this stuff isn't radio-active, because I'm using it from now on.

This reminds me a little of Certain-Dri, the old standby for those that sweat like a racehorse after winning the Kentucky Derby. Unlike Certain-Dri, this product is sticky and messy. However, it does not irritate the skin as Certain-Dri can. Put it on after a morning shower and it remains sticky. Use as directed, at night, solves this problem, that is if you wait until it is fully dry before putting your arms to your sides. It will keep you drier than most antiperspirants but use as directed, and it may take a few applications before you see the result you want.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent! (Review from someone who sweats, not glows), July 4, 2010
This review is from: Secret Clinical Strength Advanced Solid, All Day Fresh, 1.6-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Some women just "glow" in the heat. I'm not one of those women. I sweat. In fact, a week ago while at the beach with my daughter, I couldn't stand the smell of myself. Of course, I had put on my deodorant before heading to the beach, but after 5 hours of water & sun, the was no evidence of that morning's shower & deodorant left. Not a trace!

Yesterday, I went to the beach with friends. We rode an hour there. Nine people in a van with the windows down. It was *hot* just in the van! The beach was very sunny, and everyone was sweating. I, however, stayed fresh smelling ALL DAY. I was at the beach for 8 hours, plus 2 hours total in the van. 7 of those 8 hours were spent in the water. My deodorant stayed on, and I smelled great!

My only regret? I didn't bring Secret Clinical Strength Advanced Solid, All Day Fresh, 1.6-Ounce Bottle (Pack of 2) with me to share!

In the past, I have tried Degree Women Clinical Protection Anti-perspirant & Deodorant, Shower Clean, 2.7-Ounce Packages (Pack of 2), but it left me feeling jittery. I thought it was a fluke, so I stopped using it for 2 weeks, but the shaking & nervousness came back when I tried it again.

I did not get any side effects from Secret Clinical Strength Advanced Solid, All Day Fresh, 1.6-Ounce Bottle (Pack of 2) and will be using it from now on! I didn't expect this to truly be waterproof, but it is!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wake up and smell the protection!, May 17, 2011
Who would have ever thought a deodorant more than twice the price of what I've bought for over 20 years would make its way consistently into my medicine cabinet? Secret did! Amazing protection I've torture tested through P90X, Sarasota summers, adventures in India, and boardroom presentations. Keeps me dry, keeps me fresh, keeps me confident. Love the Powder Protection scent which is feminine but not too overpowering.

As a tip, I also use this under my cleavage and butt cheeks in advance of upcoming heavy sweating occassions where I'm fearful of being 'seen' or don't want to ruin outfits (ie work, going out). Sounds strange, but any girl who has learned from the locker room knows sweat seems to be sources from these areas as well as under the arms.

Downside? Like most deodorants, leaves yellow stains on whites/lights after prolonged usage. Bleach takes out the smell, but not the yellowing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome deodorant - good scent, last long!, July 7, 2010
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I've asked my lady friend to review this product:

In short:
=========

The good:
1) I really like the scent
2) Even though it's a cream, it doesn't feel sticky at all
3) It's active for a long time more than a day ( most it the other deos I've tried would last less then a day (best case)

The less good:
For some reason, I find it difficult to turn the nob in order for the cream to pop out - could be just my bad luck

In length:
==============
For the last few years I've been using a deodorant that can only be found in the UK. My problem with other deodorants is either the scent or that I don't feel protected.
From time to time I would try a local deodorant, and that would usually result in disappointment.
I'm telling you this so that you will understand I'm a picky user.

Then I saw this clinically strength deodorant, and again I said "what the heck, I'll try".

I was surprised with the results!

Bottom line, if u are looking for a really good deodorant - you just have to try this one!

4.0 out of 5 stars Low-key and effective, May 28, 2010
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
The term "clinical strength" now appears on several anti-perspirants with the Secret and Gillette brands from Proctor and Gamble. This may just be puffery, because one hopes antiperspirants are tested before they're marketed, and I've never known anyone to get a medical prescription for deodorant (the package also indicates it is "prescription-strength"), but this product does fulfill its promises.
The "solid" (it is actually a thick gel-like substance, with a "click" dispenser--two "clicks" is the required amount) applies easily, does not irritate, and has no apparent scent of its own. It prevents odor and most perspiration for at least 24 hours, and probably would prevent perspiration even better if one followed the mandate to apply it the night before, which I've chosen not to do.
Summer is the time of year when you may need a somewhat stronger deodorant. Use this one and you won't need to keep reapplying, yet since there's no strong smell you can continue to use other scented products of your choice.

1.0 out of 5 stars There is nothing clinical about this product., July 20, 2007
Mitchum For Women deodorant has the exact same active ingredient in the same concentration, comes in gel formula or solid, and costs half as much. It's just not worth paying the extra money for Secret when there is nothing new about the product.

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE this product!!!, October 18, 2009
This review is from: Secret Clinical Strength Advanced Solid, All Day Fresh, 1.6-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
I LOVE this product. If you have hyperhidrosis and prescription antiperspirants irritate your skin....then you will LOVE Secret Clinical Strength Waterproof. I love the fact that it is waterproof, because this makes it 100 times more effective. I noticed a dramatic improvement and I don't sweat as much as I used to since using this product. It was also very gentle on my skin and it didn't make my skin feel itchy or irritated. Secret Clinical Strength Waterproof (All-Day Fresh Scent) works well for me and I hope that they never stop making this product. It also has a nice pleasant scent that smells fresh.
