I couldn't agree more with the reviewer from Ireland. Possessed of one of the most haunting voices in all of music, Randy Crawford sings with a purity of sound and sincerity of expression that transcend genre and style. Every song on this album draws you in. But there is one in particular that shakes me to the core, and that is Rainy Night in Georgia. I find it impossible to listen to that song without a sympathetic shiver. In my opinion, this release should have won a Grammy.

It's hard to imagine music more beautiful than this. If you love music that makes you shiver to the core, buy this album. If you're not sure what I mean, listen to Rainy Night in Georgia. It will tear your heart out while somehow lifting your spirits at the same time. Music doesn't get any better than this. Randy Crawford has one of the most emotionally compelling voices I have ever heard and this album is a great demonstration of it from beginning to end.

This was the album that first brought Randy Crawford to my attention back in 1984. The VOICE is real - just go to see her in concert. She's warm, effusive and always gives of her best. "Rio de Janeiro Blue" and "You Might Need Somebody" never fail to "bring the sun out". Whatever your taste in music, Randy is sure to touch your heart!

I originally bought this on cassette back in the early 80s when it came out. It sounded fantastic then and even better now. There isn't a single bad track on the whole album. My favorites are "Rio De Janeiro Blue" and "Rainy Nights in Georgia". I agree with all the other reviewers that she has one of the purest voices in the industry.

Hands down if you buy one randy crawford cd, this should be the the one. I have listened to these songs for 25 years and time has remained unchanged.every song is pefect,expressive,never overdone,and will cut to the core of your being. Truly a unique masterpiece which I seldom give the big 5 star rating!

I have been listening to Randy since I was a kid and she came out singing "street life" with the crusaders and thie is still her best overall album by far. I still play it from front to back. Its filled with emotion and beautifully sung.If you buy one Randy Crawford cd make sure it is this one.

THIS IS A NICE CD. IT IS VERY PLEASING AND I REALLY ENJOY THIS CD. I LIKE THIS CD. I ENJOY ALL OF HER CDS I WOULD RECOMMEND ANYONE WHO LIKES SMOOTH JAZZ TO BUY ANY CD THAT RANDY MAKES YOU WOULD ENJOY THEM ALL. BECAUSE, I ENJOY ALL OF MY RANDY CRAWFORD CDS.

Once again she tears the house down her voice is just unforgettable.

THIS masterpiece by songbird RANDY CRAWFORD is simply PERFECT !!. EVERY song is a sparkling gem. this album truly delivers. The songs are so melodious, soulful and so hauntingly sweet !!.
This beautiful program kicks off with the graceful "YOU MIGHT NEED SOMEBODY" followed by the very lonely,dark and soul-searing "RAINY NIGHT IN GEORGIA" it literally takes you in the night rain..this song is deep. A favourite.
Here comes gloom with a little ease..in "THATS HOW HEARTACHES ARE MADE".
The melodious sadness continues in "TWO LIVES", excellent writing.
"YOU BRING THE SUN OUT" is a positive expression of love..yet the delivery is most haunting !!. A true work of art..a supreme effort..an unusual expression..a song I love. "RIO DE JANEIRO BLUE" is in a class by itself..stunning vocal and instrumental arrangements..sad..blue..sweet.
Next is the light and breezy "SECRET COMBINATION", it's like a cool eveling wind.
Perhaps the most lively cut on this project is "WHEN I LOSE MY WAY", now things get over-easy with the mood-setting "TIME FOR LOVE"..so pure..so true..
This amazing set concludes with the most haunting song of all..the thought provoking "TRADE WINDS", done also by LOU RAWLS and ROBERTA FLACK..but to me RANDY CRAWFORD'S rendition really hits home..here you get a solid reminder of the darker side of the human condition..I listen and wonder if we will endure..the choice is up to us...
Mayhaps her greatest album.. you decide !!. I strongly recomend this classic to all who need sweet yet powerful music..it's going to become a treasure to you!!!.

This album is exactly what you expect from this lady, smooth, cool and entertaining, a great "Sunday afternoon" album easy listening, full and rich.
