More like this for the DS, please,
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Secret Files: Tunguska (Video Game)
Point and click adventures seem like a perfect fit for the DS, where you can easily click on items using the stylus. Secret Files: Tunguska is a great game in this limited genre on the DS. The interface is smooth and easy to use (it even has a feature to help avoid pixel hunting or missing important items). Graphics are good, and the video cutscenes are fun. The game itself may have you scratching your head at times as to why a particular solution works. (If you get stuck, just start trying to put items in your inventory together or using items on everything in a location.) Fans of puzzly interactive fiction games and those missing the old LucasArts adventures must play this one! And please, designers, give us more point-and-click titles on the DS!

I pre-ordered this game August of 2009, and it finally was available in the USA just this week. I love this type of game and this one was worth the wait! I don't know how long this game goes on for, I hope not over quickly. If you like games like Syberia and Trace Memories you will like this one.

One of the better adventure games on the DS,

I actually got this for my wife as a gift because she really likes adventure games, but after she played it for awhile I tried it out myself and could not put it down! I had a lot of fun figuring out the different puzzles and matching items throughout the game. I personally had a lot more fun with this game than other adventure games like Siberia and would recommend this to anyone who enjoys this genre.

A Great, Albeit Not That Long, Graphic Adventure in the LucasArts Mold,
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Secret Files: Tunguska (Video Game)
LucasArts graphic adventures were a genre at their best, and the Broken Sword series is a clear artistic descendant of those games. Secret Files: Tunguska is a clear descendant (I won't say rip-off) of the Broken Sword series (but honestly, it could easily have been a Broken Sword game). The ability to switch between characters on the fly creates some interesting puzzles of the kind I hadn't seen in graphic adventures before, and as with the best graphic adventures you are not merely doing Myst-style dial turners or "enter-the-secret-code-and-open-the-door" yawn-a-thons, but rather using your noggin to solve puzzles with items in your inventory and in the environment. It's not as comedy-focused as Monkey Island or Grim Fandango, but if you are a fan of those games, or Broken Sword, or Trace Memory or Hotel Dusk, don't miss this game.
The DS version is a very good PC-to-handheld port. I haven't played the big-screen version but I found this port head-and-shoulders above the unplayable port of Syberia for the DS (seriously, how did that one make it to publication?). Playing on a small screen means many items in the environment will be hard to see, or so close to each other that you can't distinguish them, so with one press of the shoulder button every clickable item on the screen is highlighted with an icon. Kind of ruins (a small part of) the exploration aspect of these games but it's the best you can do when porting a PC-style adventure to a hand-held.

I really got into this game. It was mildly challenging for an older player. The plot was cute but a little weird. I am not going to reveal how. See for yourself. The idea of evenually changing the character's perspective should be an added feature for male and female players. Note-check everything out before you leave an area as there may be an item you need later. The idea of combining items to proceed with the plot helps get the brain cells working. I told my mother who is in her 80's "I can't get this girl off this train top!" I eventually realized I had popped to the top too quickly and needed to deal with the captive dog first. She later wanted to know how "I" got off the train. Again, as a psychologist, I am in favor of games that help create new neural connections (we all need that as we age).

At first I had a bit of a hard time understanding what to do with clues or how to make them work. After I figured that out the flow of the game was enjoyable. The occassional cutscenes had really good graphics & provided a nice flow to the storyline.

This game was actually a lot of fun. Some of the logic and puzzles are a little out there, but I plan on buying the next game in the series. My daughter enjoyed playing it too.

Most of the game is combining objects in your inventory to use on each other. Then, when you get the right combo, you have to use the end result on an object in the game itself. I wound up using a walkthrough halfway through the game because I couldn't figure some puzzles out. I suppose if you took the time look at the big picture, you'd be able to figure out what you need to do.
I love a good mystery, so other that aspect, the game had a good plot.

Horrible, the puzzles do not make sense and... it just horrible. If the puzzle solutions made sense then i would have enjoyed it. But i'm selling this game asap.
