5.0 out of 5 stars YOU CAN TRIUMPH OVER LIFE'S DISAPPOINTMENTS!, April 20, 1999
By A Customer
Every Christian woman can identify with this Carol Kent book. It lets us admit that life isn't perfect and gives positive, practical and scriptural advice for facing those disappointments. Kent first invites us to explore our deepest longings and recognize where the reality of life has fallen short of our expectations. She then encourages us not to lose hope or become embittered, but rather to take positive action by teaching how to run those unfulfilled longings through a scripturally based values grid. "By acknowledging and evaluating our passions, we can discover how to lead a much more honest, focused, fulfilling and purposeful life--a life based on eternal values." (Kent, 1990) I highly recommend the book and also the study guide for small group use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!, May 29, 2007
This review is from: Secret Longings of the Heart: Overcoming Deep Disappointment and Unfulfilled Expectations Now Includes a 12-Week Bible Study (Wisdom for Women) (Paperback)
This book really ministered to me. It was the first book I've completely finished in a long time. I would recommend this to women, who have dealt with many disappointments in life, that can stunt your growth. This book exposed the lies we tend to believe and the strongholds that can develop. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and recommended it to all my friends.
