Maybe it was me not reading the description of the book carefully, but this is not a book about a low carb plan that I thought I was buying. It is a review of other books about low carb eating plans. If you want to know about lots of different books/plans, then this is the book. Otherwise, buy one of the other books.

This is a great book for any serious low carb dieter/eater. Contains much pertinent information and many ideas on how to move off a plateau and keep weight loss going. A wonderful reference book for low carbies.

Great little book giving the low-down on various low carb diets for you to make your own choice. I read it cover to cover, found it very helpful as I don't subscribe totally to one particular science, I "take a little of this, a little of that" when low carbing, keeps my metabolism guessing and me motivated!

I'd never had any experience with low-carb diets before, so I needed a good overall review of the risks and benefits and underlying principles of various proponents and their diet basics - and this book delivered. It spurred me on to further research to learn more about those that intrigued me. My husband, a diabetic, was interested in a diabetes low-carb author mentioned in the book and he ordered that author's book, too, and is very pleased. This is a small but powerful book, packed with everything you need to know. I didn't settle on one plan, but took what I considered the best parts of several plans, and I have indeed been successful. Highly recommended. (I also recommend Dana Carpender's book, How I Gave Up My Low-Fat Diet and Lost 40 Pounds (Revised and Expanded Edition).)

I expected a diet book, with instructions for the diet, food lists, carb and calorie counts, etc. Instead this book reviews the different types of low carb diets, such as Atkins, Carb Addicts, Zone, etc. The book has helpful information about what to expect while on a low carb diet and how to do a low carb diet successfully. So after reading it, I pulled out my old Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, and started the Atkins diet.

I had started out to make a chart comparing the various books on low carb diets. Some stress protein but not fat, others are high on fat but stay away from saturated, etc. Then I discovered this book, which nicely gives the summary data from a large number.
