This is a brief review of the score written for the movie, not the movie itself, a distinction perhaps lost on the earlier reviewers. The songs, like all songs that hitch rides on score albums, are to be ignored.

A fun, brass-heavy action score. Lots of color and movement. Plenty of evocative, muscular string writing. It is, perhaps, John Williams-esque in character with a touch of James Newton Howard, but really, it's a Lee Holdridge show. Lee Holdridge has a deft hand with quick mood changes, working them effortlessly into the fabric of the music. There isn't a lot in the hummable theme department, however, which may render it not too useful for putting the little kids to sleep with.

Far better music than the movie is likely to have deserved.

About the only good thing you can say about the movie is that it has a song or two worth hearing. "I Will Show The World" is good. So is "Magic Mystery Show", though it has no reason to be in this film.

This is a awesome cd this cd is fun and enjoyable to listen to. The best songs on this disc are all of them

The CD was a good Quality, Sound Quality was great better than the movie.
Overall the album is just as described. Would recommend to anyone looking to add to their collection of music.

I love this cd. It is great instramental are enchanting and the songs are fun and upbeat. I approve.

NIMH 2 was bad enought, why in God's name did they have to release a soundtrack based on it? I'd never loved the idea of NIMH 2 being a musical & after seeing it on cable TV I never knew MGM would sink the NIMH universe that low, do you really think MGM is gona make any cash from a soundtrack with thoses God awful songs that nealy destoryed the NIMH experience for some people?

Buy the 1st soundtrack, only 2 songs (same song, 2 different singers) & the rest is Jerry Goldsmith's wonderfull music score, don't bother with NIMH 2.

One of the main flaws with the movie was that, like so many others, the others felt that the only way to keep children's attention was to throw in a song every 5 minutes. It made for a terrible movie, and terrible songs. A must miss if ever there was one!
