Creating Champions, March 21, 2000
This review is from: Secret of the Peaceful Warrior: A Story About Courage and Love (Hardcover)
I present motivational programs in the Detroit area schools. This book is excellent in showing that the positive actions displayed by Danny make him shine like a winner. Nothing wimpy about him! This book will become part of my CREATING CHAMPIONS program to have children see that really strong individuals don't need to use their fists to be in control of their lives! Bravo to all involved in the creation of this book. More books like this in schools could help curb some of the growing violence we're seeing.

I liked how the girl stood up to that bully... I could do that, say "Hey, why are you taking his lunch?!? Get your own lunch!" I liked the part about "friendship"... there was a lot in this book about "friendship". I loved it. It's my favorite book ever! - Rachel P, age 10

Great book for kids, and probably adults of all ages., October 14, 2005
This review is from: Secret of the Peaceful Warrior: A Story About Courage and Love (Hardcover)
I love this book. I can read it a thousand times to/with my daughter. It's filled with heart, and simple wisdom. This book is great for everyone from athiest, or secular parents to deeply religious parents of all faiths...and of course to all of the rest of us that lie somewhere in the beautiful middle.
This book is just great. You will not regret buying this book for your son, daughter, niece, nephew, granddaughter, or grandson. I love the pictures, the flow, the simplicity, the message, and well I just love this book...I just wish that Millman wrote more children's books, and perhaps one with a girl protagonist...perhaps Daniela Miller, or something like that.
But if you are thinking about buying this book then do it. I am glad that I did. I was concerned at first about whether I would agree with the spirituality of the book, but low and behold there is nothing in this book to disagree with. It's all heart.
Thanks Dan..now get to work on another one with a girl protagonist.
