I have read the first book The secret which turned my life completely on a positive way. Now I live by those rules every day and the law of attraction really function. That book made me buy more books about similar themes. I just could not wait to buy The power as soon as find out there is a new book from Rhonda. The secret really made me out of my mind while reading. Time to time I used to close the book and think about the written deep words and said to myself: god, it's really true. I got so much excitement while reading, but The power did not make such effect. Although book is very fine and light. Talks about love which is the power. Something like I new before. But the Law of attraction from fisrt book was a bliss and discovery for me. For the one who already bought The secret, you really do not need to rush to buy The power. Anyway, I just had to have it my library next to first one on my shelfs. Because this is the Bible of living. Thank you Rhonda.

Liked: There was a few more things to learn that will help you find the path you are seeking. However I would say that if you are to buy just the secret you have it all.

Didn't Like: I found this book was mostly a repeat of the secret. However the few added items were important to me.

I would say always worth the read you might find things I didn't see. I would recommend looking at the teachers featured in each book and look up what they have to say as well.

I have read The Secret a few years ago and picked this book up as I had enjoyed The Secret. As with The Secret, The Power can be a little repetitious, but, at the same time, I believe that repetition to be reinforcing the instructions presented. Those instructions are to feel love, present love, be thankful and grateful. All positive elements even when dealing with negative ones.

There are those who will feel negatively about this book. That it's too simple. That it's all "happy thoughts, positive vibes... Love, Love, Love". Yes, it is. But is that necessarily a bad thing? Is it bad to look at all the positive things in your life and be happy and grateful for those things and to also look at all the negative things in your life and envision those negative things taking a positive turn and believing that they will even if the source of that belief (and the energy behind it) is something as "fluffy" as LOVE?

I will tell you what I have learned from reading this book: just 2 days prior to reading it I was an irritable, grumpy, negative person. I was sitting in a little depression pit, not necessarily feeling sorry for myself, but mostly feeling sorry about the situations I was in (whether at work or home). The positivity of the book and the reinforced instructions helped to get me out of this pit I was in and has me feeling better about my life and better about my future in this life. I'm grateful for the positive elements in my life and am working to bring more positive elements in. Whether that's through love or just a general good outlook on life, I don't care. Yes, there are still some negative elements that continue to rear their ugly heads (this wouldn't be life if you didn't have them; lessons must be learned), I just know that I'm happier after completing this book than I was going into it and plan to maintain the positivity.

This is a fine book to introduce the beginner to the concept of using the vibration of emotion to create the life you wish to live.
There is a book I read ten years ago that is a permenant fixture in my library: "Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting : The Astonishing Power of Feelings" by Lynn Grabhorn. That book introduced me to the concept, with much success, I'm happy to add.

"The Power" is fine to start, but definitely follow up with "Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting." Then, study Ester Hicks' Abraham book "The Astonishing Power of Emotions: Let Your Feelings Be Your Guide" to really bring it home. Your life will never be the same after that.

The power is a book that will benefit those who apply what they read. The key message is
that we all have the Power WIthin...while I found the book the secret, generalities, this
book gets more specific with some how to's.....However I will say one can learn more about
how to utilize their inner connection with the Universe, and the Universal Laws that apply to
every day living By Reading Catherine Ponder, her work was in the 60's and 70,s...The Book The Dynamic
laws of Prosperity...will give you more info, and at half the price. Dr. Joseph Murphy{s book
The law of the Sub Conscious Mind....is excellent as well.

Bottom line...everyone relates differently to different authors...and you can read two books on the
same subject, and benefit from them both. Each offers a different perspective. There is value in
this book, despite that I favor Catherine Ponder over all.

I believe we all need a little help to get through the tough times & this book helps you to do just that. It reminds us that we all have the "power" to change what is not working in our lives. It is a simple, easy to read guide.

The Power is...wait for it...wait for it...well, I guess telling you would be a spoiler. Rhonda Byrne takes the idea of The Law of Attraction discussed in The Secret and boils it down to the source of power in The Power. The general premise of the book makes sense. The idea that we receive what we give rings true. When we feel positive and project good feelings out into the world, we're more likely to notice the good things in our lives. When we spend our lives focused on the negative, then life feels negative and bad all the time. Her descriptions of using imagination to manifest our desires in life is intriguing and encouraging if at times a bit difficult to wholeheartedly believe. The Power loses me when it talks about our responsibility for other people's behavior towards us, but even more so when it talks about using the Power to heal one's physical ailments and injuries. The book is written in clear language if a bit redundant at times. While frustrating at times, The Power provides some wonderful insights and moments that are bound to lead to personal growth. Overall, The Power is an interesting study in the effects of positive thinking.

This is an excellent book. I didn't think anything would surpass The Secret but this did. This is a keep forever and read again and again book -- just like The Secret is.

I quite enjoyed The Power. I listened to it everyday on my way to and from work. Quite entertaining and fascinating.

I believe in positive thinking and was interested in all the examples she gave about how positive thinking works in our lives.

Some of it was a little bit hard to swallow. I pretty much agreed with it all till she got to the part about how we don't have to die. The only reason people die (per her theory) is because we believe we're supposed to get old/sickly and die. Even if it is true, I'm not so sure I want to live 500 years--imagine the taxes!! Plus, Social Security would be pretty non-existent by then!!

She (and the Power) is all about positivity. Turning away from negative thoughts/feelings.
So mostly, it is great and so interesting that it went fast.

Enjoy and take what is good from it and use it in your life. We'd all be better people if we were more positive.

I thought I was going to hate it to be honest. This book wasn't pumped up and over hyped like the Secret and I liked that. It was straight talking from the Author. The principles in this book does work because I've been already using them for years as a way of life.

After listening to Pray & Grow Rich by Catherine Ponder it is crystal clear that Rhonda Byrne copied Catherine Ponder's missing dog story. Which I think is all made up BUT I do get the message. I bet that Rhonda Byrne will make another copy of Florence Scovel Shinn and Catherine Ponder classic works. I wish the Magic was an audio book as I can't be bothered reading books.
