1st disc from criminally underrecognized genius,

Though this disc doesn't reach the sublime level of the utterly essential second disc, Honeyburst, it is still very much worth seeking out - especially the Japanese pressing which adds the superb "Misty Mono". The fact that Tim is not a superstar in North America is a tragic commentary on the state of the music business here.Superb songwriting, fantastic singing, mind blowing guitar work, and some wonderful mellotron.

I was an exchange student in Denmark last year, and I just fell in love with Tim Christensen's music! Now I'm really upset that I'm in America and I won't be able to buy his new album. Tim is awesome. This is a great CD. There isn't a bad song on it.

Secrets On Parade,
This review is from: Secrets On Parade (MP3 Download)
3/5. The second studio album from the former Dizzy Mizz Lizzy vocalist Tim Christensen was recorded around the time when the band broke up leaving an after-taste of disullisionment and serving as a typical example of how you don't know what you've got until it's gone. The personal life problems that Christinsen was experiencing at that time added further intimacy to the record, which came as a sort of a diary in a way.. "Secrets On Parade" is a kind of an album that grows on you as you pay closer attention to personal touches in direct lyrics describing his own experience and laid back sound of moving pop ballads "Love Is A Matter Of...", "Falling to Pieces", "Prime Time" and especially "Stranger". On other songs, like the title track "Secrets on Parade", "Watery Eyes" and "Let's Face It" Christensen delivers his boyhood dreams with an old-fashioned rock sound, which still does not spoil the general impression of "Secrets On Parade" being mostly a singer-songwriter effort. Not sure about the therapeutic effect for finding solace the album is believe to have, but definitely a nice insight into contemporary Danish scene, so inevitably sad and melodic. --Sain Alizada

Tim Christensen is now for the first time making an album without the former band Dizzy Mizz Lizzy, and he sure does this well. A fantastic album with not only great lyrics, but also the well-known Christensen sound, which yet again proves his talent.
