5.0 out of 5 stars Great, mysterious score from Morricone., March 30, 2009
This review is from: Secret of the Sahara (Audio CD)
First of all, don't expect the typical middle eastern type of music which you might expect to hear. Instead be prepared to hear a very mysterious, dark and intelligent score from Morricone. It has choral work, some atonal stuff, some epic stuff... it doesn't have action music or something. Its just simply a great mysterious score not following conventional music you would expect with the title "Secret of the Sahara" I never saw the movie, but the same music could have fit a scifi movie as well, or some epic documentary IMHO. Recommended if you like - "non-mickey mousing" - intelligent filmmusic.

This CD is entitled, "Secret of the Sahara." Maybe it went well w/the television program, however, when listening to the CD, the music does not bring pictures of the Middle East to mind. The music definitely does not have an ethnic flavor. I found the CD disappointing.
