5.0 out of 5 stars A must read
The Secret of Sarah Revere, is a must read. This book is for anyone who likes historical fiction with added suspense. While some of the dialog is a bit tricky to grasp, the way that the author portrays Sarah, the daughter of Paul Revere, is outstanding. Ms. Rinaldi depicts a young women coming of age brilliantly. 3.0 out of 5 stars A pretty good book, September 15, 2005
A Kid's Review
In this book "The Secrets of Sarah Revere", Ann Rinaldi(author) has captured a essential time in the history of America, told from point of view of Sarah Revere the daughter of one of Americas honored patriots Paul Revere. The book is mostly about secrets and trying to crack them and keep them.

This book was the first historical-fiction I have ever read. To tell you the truth I didn't think that this book was going to be so interesting. But it was actually an enjoyable and easy read. It is not boring at all. It puts a very good picture in your head of how it was back then. It even makes you think, "What matters? The truth? Or what people think?" just because that is the question that pledges young Sarah (it is repeated over and over in the story).

I couldn't really pick a favorite character; every character was described so good that you could really see every quality that they had. But I did have a favorite part, it was a very sad moment in the story, because Sarah finally got to straiten thing out with Dr. Warren (a family friend who watches over the family while Mr. Revere is gone) but it was too late. She had said very harsh stuff to him because she feared that he had interest in her stepmother Rachel this moment drove them apart. For me this part was very sad, I really felt as if I was there and I were watching him not even looking or thinking about what Sarah was saying, he was all ready at war (Revolutionary War). This part really touched me. Reading this book has opened a new window to see the history of America from a different approach. Definitely I would start to read more historical books in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars another great book by Ann Rinaldi!, July 4, 2005
This book is about Sarah and it begins in Watertown, MA in the summer after her father's famous ride. Sarah relives the past two years (which is most of the book) and learns a very important lesson.

I liked this book because;

1) I love the way Ann Rinaldi brings history to life in an interesting way.

2) Sarah's lesson is one that we can use in our everyday lives today.

Great book for teen girls. Read it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rinaldi does it again!, March 25, 2000
As usual, I think Ann Rinaldi stunned everybody with her amazing talent to express the history of the world so excitingly. She has a real knack to do this. I really liked the Secret of Sarah Revere because it was so exciting to see what it would be like to be the daughter of a famous Patriot who played such a large role in the history of the United States. I highly recommend this book!

3.0 out of 5 stars A Good Book to Read for a Book Project, September 15, 2005
A Kid's Review
This book is unlike anything I have ever read. This book is based on the history, its during the Revolutionary War. The famous Paul Revere had many kids. His favorite child, Sarah, was the one he entrusted with his greatest secret. On the other hand Sarah had secrets of her own. The feud between Sarah and a close family friend who has stood by her father's side for many years and even saved Sarah's life a couple of times. There feud continues for many weeks and months and ends up not being solved because of special circumstances. I will not reveal the circumstances because I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise. The story starts after the ride of Paul Revere but after the first couple of chapters Sarah remembers how it all led up to their flee from Boston to Watertown. It goes over how Paul Revere remarries after his first wife dies. It talks about his work with his Whig friends and how the events at Lexington turn out. Most of the book it talks about daily life at the Revere house and how it changed all of them for the good or the bad. The book gives people access into the actions of Paul Revere at his house where he was at peace. Sarah is Paul's favorite daughter who is very close to her father and slowly departs from the family friend and her idol Dr. Warren.

I thought this book pretty entertaining and informative. I'm going to advise you that this book is a novel and it isn't all true. The author Ann Rinaldi makes the book alive. This book is for younger readers who would enjoy a adventures book about a girl. Also they would have learned some historical information. I give this book a three because it isn't my type of book but it still is ok.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good for a historical fiction novel, November 15, 2004

I read this as extra credit for my english class, and I'm glad I did. It was an enjoyable, easy read while at the same time it taught me about an actual event that occurred in history. I recommend this to readers who would like to know more about this time period. It is not boring at all. However, it seemed like Sarah was miserable, and the ending was kindof...dull and unhappy. This was the first book I read by Anne Rinaldi. Since this book, I have read Hang a Thousand Trees with Ribbons and The Fifth of March by the same author. The Fifth of March is REALLY good, but I really liked Hang a Thousand Trees with Ribbons a lot as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Secret of Sarah Revere, December 19, 2002
A Kid's Review
Secret of Sarah Revere is about Paul Revere's daughter, Sarah. A man comes to the door of the Revere household. He asks Sarah of the happenings of the Revere family in the past year. Sarah begins to think of the last year or so. You will have to read the book to find out all of her thoughts.
I really liked this book because it has a story and a history lesson. You really need to have some knowledge of that time period to understand what is going on.
This book is good for a male or female, but mostly female because it is a female telling the story. I hope you enjoy the book as much as i did! Hope this reveiw helped.

3.0 out of 5 stars Flower Reviews..., October 6, 2002
A Kid's Review
Recently I've been going through a box of old books my neighbors gave me and I came across this. I finished this in less than one day, and was satisfied with me. Most books make history seem all dull and prim and proper, but this one brought out the troubles of the Revoloution as you don't learn in the classroom. Though some parts I zoned out, it was not boring, like many historic accounts are. This book was an enjoyable read!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Secret of Sara Revere, January 25, 2001
Sara Revere, the daughter of the famous patriot, Paul Revere recalls the journeys her father had made for the past two years. Historical Significant takes place, such as the Boston tea party and her fathers "famous rides",including Saras wondering whether her fathers new wife, Rachel has been betraying him with another patriot from the Revolutionary War. Ann Rinaldis writing technique of this wonderful story may be confusing at times, but it all adds up in the end. The use of all the incididents that has happened in the past makes the novel very involving and very informative at the same time. It is a great way to take yourself back in the history of the Revolutionary War.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kind of Boring, May 2, 2000
By A Customer
This book jumped around in time too much. Read it only if you are interested in the Revolutionary War. Unfortunately I am not. The story has alot to do with history and I learned more about the Revolutionary War than I cared to know. Even though often boring it is also extremely sad.
