I am a practicing mental health therapist. I deal with adults and adolescence that have a history of or are currently dealing with self injury. This book offered some good insight into self injury and treatment options/tips when dealing with a person who self injurers. I was somewhat disappointed in the lengthy explanation of all the disorders. However, I am reading this book from a therapist point of view and not a person who is trying to recover.
Overall; I felt this book had some good insight but would have liked more focus on the treatment and outcome rather than the different types of disorders. |
