Max Freedom Long not only did his homework, did it well, he also was gifted great good fortune along the way. It is not simply coincidence which puts him in the right place at the right time to find, collate, sort out and reveal the right information so that we can remember more of the truth of who we really are. He consistently focused his practical, honest, clear and methodical approach to the challenging task of revealing the Huna system which had been forced underground by the prejudice of the prior powers that were in Hawaii when he first arrived there, early 1900's.
It is repeatedly revealed in this first work, covering the awesome topic of the power of the kahunas to heal so many aspects of our lives, that there was the hand of a higher power at work in Max' life. That his first edition led to a letter from a reader who had direct experience of the Huna tradition from half way around the world in its roots in north-western Africa is no small testimony to the serendipity involved. And Max' relentless pursuit of the truth of the practical experience of real-live miracle healings, let alone the turning around of lives unfortunate into fortunate ones, is worthy of high praise.
And his calling forward corroborating evidence from the breadth of the available research of the day is, again, noteworthy.
He consistently displays depth of perception, breadth of knowledge, humility which keeps the research in its proper place and a willingness to admit his own few limitations.
Granted, there are a few shortcomings to his work, and usually he is fully aware and freely admits the limits he bumped into along the way.
I am putting his revelations of the truth of the Huna to very good work with very good results in my life's work. I am profoundly grateful to Max Freedom Long for his dedication, insight, clarity and thoroughness.

I read Mr. Long's original book "Recovering the Ancient Magic" and gave it high praise.

This book has many of the same case reports that were published in "Recovering the Ancient Magic", but This volume goes more in depth than the earlier work. so buy this book instead. This is an excelent study in Huna!

I was surprised to find that copyies of this book were still available.
I read this book in hardcover form back in the early fifties. Being young
and impressionable I thought "WOW" could there really be such things.
Mr Long soon came out with a companion book called "The Secret Science at Work". I tried a few of his suggestions but being young and having other things on my mind I soon forgot about them.
Over the years I have looked into several mystical beliefs and find
Mr longs explanations to be as good as any of the others.
I do recommend this book but for some modern theories on miracles I
recommend the book "The Field" by Lynne McTaggart.

This Book was extremely Interesting
The information contained in the Book was better than expected
I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in their Spiritual Development
The book joins together a number of different religions/viewpoints to provide a big picture overview
It has a number of interesting practical ideas that you can try for yourself
I was very pleased to receive the book promptly thru the mail all the way to Port Hedland in Australia
The book provided a number of case histories and practical examples which detailed the principles being explained
There is no reason why you cannot try these practical examples yourself
I can susbstantiate some of the ideas being presented in the book being able to perform them myself
One of the most interesting and entertaining books I have read

I enjoyed this book very much lots of stories of what was done with huna, and other religions.For a beginner I didn't find much how to I learned concepts of huna, but for more real how to how to I liked secret science at work better by Max Freedom Long.

With doubt this book can change your life and give real answers to
miricales and the "HOW TO"! I was luckey to whin an auction and have
5 other volunes of MF. This is a fantastic amount or research (45years). There so many answers and surprise revelations. If you don't read anything else ever , treat yourself this book and others by MF.

This book contains more "how to" of Huna than MFL other books.

this book is actually featured in the 1976 Stephen King horror flick, Carrie. Interestingly enough, in the library scene, Carrie opens this book and finds the definition of "telekinesis." The word is not used in this book at all!

least a month to prove its worth, if any.
