Editorial Reviews

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were great with just enough suspense and romance to make it a page turner. --Kel (Bookworm)
It was fun and entertaining. But it does end with a slight cliffhanger, setting up the next book in the series. Not real crazy about cliffhangers but this one wasn't too unpleasant. --Pamela(AllHoney)
This was a fun book. I read it all pretty much in one setting, so it definitely kept my attention. --☆ Eyes On The Stars ☆

I think Secret Seduction would have benefited from the experience provided by a professional publisher.

I must admit that I thought Katie rather childish. Being hounded by tabloid journalists, see her so-called friends dissect her every quirks in the media, all without being able to digest the fact that her mother lied to her her whole life, I understand it can be hard to bear, and even that she'd wanted to disappear for a while. But remaining one year without being in touch with anybody, including her brother (who must also be disturbed by the news even if he's less affected) was too close to a big tantrum done with foot stomping and a loud "so there". And the fact that one year later she's still as angry at her mother just confirmed this feeling.

The attraction between them is fast as they've known each other for a long time and as Katie has been in love with him since always. He needs more time to understand what he wants, thanks to long internal and sadly repetitive monologs. These repetition (there are many from the heroine too) are one of weak points of the story.

The rhythm of the story is uneven, with a succession of action scenes and dead calm. I thought the plot was poorly exploited, and the ending left me dissatisfied. I can understand the story goes on in the following book, but no one even mentions any further investigation. It's as if catching the henchmen was enough.

Despite these shortcomings, this novel has qualities and I still want to read the following book. It must be that Secret Seduction is better than it might seem from reading my review. In any case I want to give a chance to the author.

Edit : several days later I changed my mind. I don't want to go on reading this author for now.

The overall story was a good idea, but the telling of the story seemed disjointed to me, and at times confusing, almost like this wasn't the first book in the series (I've since discovered there are other stories in the series, but I had to hunt around for that information). There were flashbacks that were mentioned at times that seemed like they were giving the reader a quick jog of the memory on a past story, but I've not been able to determine if those characters indeed have their own story (Ric and his wife and how they met for example). The end was a bit unbelievable, I can understand Katie's brother Ric jumping into action to help, but I'm not sure if Dante knew about her all along and that's why he rushed to help, I only know that his helping is the setup for his own story (book 2 in the series). And the ending, that was the reason for the story's drama?

A quick, light read, but I more than likely won't finish up the series.

I was given a copy of this book before publication in exchange for my honest opinion.

Let me start off by saying I really enjoyed this book.
Katie was told some devastating news (over the phone) by her mother and after a month of trying to deal with it she finally had enough and took off to Europe leaving everything behind except for some clothes. No Phone, No Computer no way for anyone to get into contact with her. While she was traveling from Country to Country she was attacked by two men. Jason - Katie's best friend -had been following her (unbeknownst to her) and stepped in and got her away from the men. The story continues with them fleeing from Greece to go to Rome where her family is waiting to meet her.
I will not spoil the ending but I will let you know that that they become more then "Just friends" and watching their relationship grow was really sweet.

I thought the story was a good one, and a strong one and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

This is now the 5th book in the series about the people from Pride and I'm fairly addicted, however this book could have been so much better.

Our h grows up with the H but when she finds out that her dad is not her biological dad and that her mom has been living a double life for more than 2 decades, she runs away. The h has been in love with the H for years and after an embarrassing and unreciprocated declaration on her part, she leaves the US and the H behind. The h's mother then incentivises the H to follow the h and get her to Rome to meet her biological dad. The H now decides he loves the h and needs to convince her. My disappointment with this story is that it feels like the H is disloyal to the h at several points in the book. I didn't ever feel like he loved her so much that he couldn't live without her. Some of the things that happen are downright hurtful to the h, including the part where the H takes his girlfriend back to his apartment that he shares with the h and has lusty sex in her hearing. I just didn't love reading about that.

This was a fast-paced fun and sexy adventure. Sanders brings us right into the action from the word Go with this one. I did enjoy the flashbacks to the childhood relationship between the two characters, building their history as we are whisked along on this high-stakes ride. The chemistry was undeniable, and the plot was intriguing. While I enjoyed learning about their history through the flashbacks, I think I would have preferred an actual scene depicting their relationship at the point of the kiss at the party right before she gets the call from her mother that changes her life. I would have liked to actually experience the dynamic between them at this point in their relationship, rather than hearing it also in flashback mode. I think I might have rooted for them more as a couple in the beginning if I'd experienced this interaction first hand. It took me a little while to warm up to the characters, to feel for them and empathize with them because we were thrust right into the action before we got to know them. However by the mid-point I was definitely captivated and very entertained. I really liked the way the ending eluded to the culprit behind the kidnapping and hinted at more trouble to come. I'm definitely curious to read the next installment. Well done!
