Cleverly employing a sarcastic, lighthearted approach, she provides simple yet effective techniques that anyone can use to confront and release angry feelings that might be on the verge of destroying lives. Janet learned the hard way. She wrote The Secret Side of Anger so you won't have to.

A great book.

Many times, after reading "The Secret Side of Anger," I've "reeled myself in" when confronted or had my "buttons pushed."

Thanks to this offering, I find myself a more peaceful person now.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Superbly-Written Book... April 16, 2012
Format:Perfect Paperback
Janet is a keen observer of life. And, especially, when it comes to what she calls "the secret side of anger." She knows this secrecy first hand and so has written a personal and helpful book on dealing with the issues associated with the anger, and sometimes, rage people carry within. This book, given the nature of violence today, could not be more needed. Perfect reading. Thanks Janet.

Loved this book! I thought I was already good at controlling my anger, but after reading this book, I learned a WHOLE lot more, especially about indirect anger. 3.0 out of 5 stars Secrets Worth Knowing October 1, 2014
Format:Perfect Paperback|Verified Purchase
There's a lot of real substance to her analysis of anger as a perceptual pathology first and foremost. Many of her prescriptions for taking control and turning anger around and off are thoughtful; some are ingenious. I would have begged her, however, to forget the parenthetical puns that litter the landscape of her otherwise useful and workmanlike prose. They might work in person as audience connection devices, but they detract in book format from what is an important piece of analysis and advice. That said, she's a survivor of chronic anger and real misfortune, and one comes away with a sense of respect for that and for her willingness to share in the cure.
