Most Helpful Customer Reviews

10 of 11 people found the following review helpful By Johann F. Hasler on December 8, 2001
Format: Paperback
A Temple Room with the correct paraphernalia is one of the requisites for most systems of Hermetic Magic, and this book teaches how to make the basic items: the Elemental Weapons, the Banners, the Pillars, the Altar, The Rose-Cross lamen, etc. It also covers a section on how to make a 'concealable' Temple, to be drawn out of a wardrobe when needed and put back in it again in a couple of minutes. I give it 3 stars because the Ciceros' "Secrets of a Golden Dawn Temple" covers the same sujects much more comprehensiveley and profoundly, and goes even further than this book. If you can get the Ciceros' book, get it, otherwise, this one is good enough.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful By Errin Davenport on January 23, 2008
Format: Hardcover
Well written, practical methods for constructing the essentials for the working Ceremonial Magician. There are 9 color plates which show very beautifully made tools and a complete personal temple setup.

Personal tools covered are:
-Lotus wand
-Rose Cross Lamen
-Sword
-Fire Wand
-Water Chalice
-Air Dagger
-Earth pentacle

And for the temple:
-Authors own ingenious cabinet design
-Altar
-Temple Lamp
-Censer
-Cross and triangle
-Pillars (with proper motifs of 17th and 125th verses from the "Book of the Dead")
-Painting the Tree of life in proper Colors
-Banners of the East and West
-Full Color Enochian Tablets
-Robes

It is a thin volume, easy to reference and hard cover for durability. All color plates are at the front of the book for convenience. In addition to providing complete instructions for each tool, additional ideas for easier and more complex designs are put forth for most items.

The next step easier to following the instructions in this book is to buy everything custom made.
