Book Description

The Secret to Trading Forex, Futures, & ETFs: Risk Tolerance Threshold Theory takes the complex subjects of market movement and trading and reduces them to a straightforward, easy to grasp theory which provides the basis for a viable trading plan for today's markets. The forces that drive all markets have one fundamental component – the human element. While so much of what people do is unpredictable, the price levels at which they react to hope and fear are often easy to forecast regardless of fundamental events or market technicals.

The authors provide insight from their 30+ years of market analysis and trading experience by showing how professional traders and market makers consistently take advantage of the emotions of less experienced traders, and quantify this information by showing you how to identify and measure specific, predictable price levels which define whether a market is in a bullish or bearish environment. By the end of this book you will know how to determine which markets to trade and from which direction to trade them. The Secret to Trading Forex, Futures, & ETFs: Risk Tolerance Threshold Theory provides a unique market perspective which will leave you looking at markets differently!

“I have been trading full time for almost half a century and Jay is one of the best sources of information I know of. [The Secret to Trading Forex, Futures, & ETF's: Risk Tolerance Threshold Theory] is easy to read and simply superb. I fully recommend to any trader to listen to Jay [Norris]”.

What a scam!!! this should have a subtitle called "intro to my service I am selling". There should be a way to get your money back when you get suckered into one of these "NON info books" totally worthless!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Trading Book in Years October 8, 2013

Great book, great theory, but like the authors McGraw Hill books more for experienced traders and academics. Norris's theory is sound, but I did not see that overnight. His books are heavy on cause, effect and detail. Lot's of detail. But they do grow on you. The theory sounded right initially, but I had to keep going back and rereading it and drawing the RT lines on my charts to finally see it. (The link to the video in the book helped) It is rare to find something in trading that over time you gain confidence in and after 4 months I can tell you Risk Tolerance Theory is one of those tools. But unless you have alot of experience in trading be prepared to read this book several times. I say it is not for everyone because if you think trading is going to be easy to learn or for $5 you will learn it all you probably will not get it.

Likewise while I had to think about the title "The Secret of Trading" for I agree with it. The secret is having that edge that tells you loud and clear that you want to be either buying dips or selling rallys and the book gives you that.

This book is the best trading book I've read in many years, and provided a tactic which I added to my own trading plan. I honestly can't think of a better trading book that I have read.

Remember the great line from the movie, Cool Hand Luke, where Paul Newman who plays the character, Luke says, "I gotta get my mind right, Boss?" Well this book will help you get your mind right for profitable trading.

I wish you knew me, so you would listen to me. I am just an average trader with an average brain. I have spent over $20K on lectures, seminars, systems, and self proclaimed gurus over the last 4 years and most of them were taught by "pros" that do not make their living off trading but off of "TEACHING" suckers like me. Of course there are some systems that do have validity, (like the turtles), which requires very deep pockets AND the stainless steel lined stomach to stay in those trades while weathering big draw downs. I think there is some validity to Elliott Wave as well, but 90% of traders cannot trade it profitably. Just when you think you counted out a certain series of Elliott waves, the market turns unexpectedly, and it is only after you count your losses that you see it was one of your "ALTERNATE" counts.

In his book, "The Secret to Trading Forex, Futures, and ETF's:" Jay shows you by his risk tolerance threshold theory method of trading, how a straight forward understandable system that may at first sound too simple to work, REALLY DOES!

I wish I could take 90% of all the crap I have learned over the last 4 years, from supposed trading gurus, put it all in a giant Glad Hefty trash bag and set it by the curb for pick-up.
Learn it right, learn it with discipline, learn it with Jay's help, you will thank me, even though you don't even know who the heck I am.
Jay will help you "get your mind right", to see the markets in a new way, and ultimately in becoming a profitable trader.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple,Effective! Incredibly Accurate May 18, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Let me be clear..I don't ever write reviews.. why??? Because after having spent the $$ on the trading book or video I have always come away with the same frustration... useless vague information! WELL NOT THIS BOOK!! Understanding how "my" risk tolerance aligns with the collective market to form these reliable and repetitive levels was simply a game changer for me! That coupled with the book's simple explanation of how markets "fractal" nature allow these levels to work on whatever time frame you choose to trade, just finally made it click for me. I have struggled for years trying to figure out how professionals and market makers (ie my broker!) seemed to always be on the right side of the trade while I was on the wrong side. Like everybody, I was usually right about the overall direction of the market, but still lost money like 90% of the traders out there. As they say.."right at the wrong time is still wrong!!" Then this book was recommended to me and I have to tell you..its worth every penny!! Which come already next to nothing. It really is a simple, effective, and very accurate way to trade!! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to finally turn the corner on there trading career!!!
