Book Description

The Secret to Trading Forex, Futures, & ETFs: Risk Tolerance Threshold Theory takes the complex subjects of market movement and trading and reduces them to a straightforward, easy to grasp theory which provides the basis for a viable trading plan for today's markets. The forces that drive all markets have one fundamental component – the human element. While so much of what people do is unpredictable, the price levels at which they react to hope and fear are often easy to forecast regardless of fundamental events or market technicals.

The authors provide insight from their 30+ years of market analysis and trading experience by showing how professional traders and market makers consistently take advantage of the emotions of less experienced traders, and quantify this information by showing you how to identify and measure specific, predictable price levels which define whether a market is in a bullish or bearish environment. By the end of this book you will know how to determine which markets to trade and from which direction to trade them. The Secret to Trading Forex, Futures, & ETFs: Risk Tolerance Threshold Theory provides a unique market perspective which will leave you looking at markets differently!

“I have been trading full time for almost half a century and Jay is one of the best sources of information I know of. [The Secret to Trading Forex, Futures, & ETF's: Risk Tolerance Threshold Theory] is easy to read and simply superb. I fully recommend to any trader to listen to Jay [Norris]”.

What a scam!!! this should have a subtitle called "intro to my service I am selling". There should be a way to get your money back when you get suckered into one of these "NON info books" totally worthless!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Trading Book in Years October 8, 2013

Great book, great theory, but like the authors McGraw Hill books more for experienced traders and academics. Norris's theory is sound, but I did not see that overnight. His books are heavy on cause, effect and detail. Lot's of detail. But they do grow on you. The theory sounded right initially, but I had to keep going back and rereading it and drawing the RT lines on my charts to finally see it. (The link to the video in the book helped) It is rare to find something in trading that over time you gain confidence in and after 4 months I can tell you Risk Tolerance Theory is one of those tools. But unless you have alot of experience in trading be prepared to read this book several times. I say it is not for everyone because if you think trading is going to be easy to learn or for $5 you will learn it all you probably will not get it.

Likewise while I had to think about the title "The Secret of Trading" for I agree with it. The secret is having that edge that tells you loud and clear that you want to be either buying dips or selling rallys and the book gives you that.

This book is the best trading book I've read in many years, and provided a tactic which I added to my own trading plan. I honestly can't think of a better trading book that I have read.

I have followed Jay Norris for a number of years. The titlte to this book targets his message succinctly and accurately. If you want to be a successful trader, you cannot be your own worse enemy, and most of us are. We have a notion about how to trade, and to successfully trade, and this notion is confounded by our own emotions which ultimately tend to work against us.
As described in this book, I am an "end User" and take hedge positions in precious metals to protect our inventory. To my consternation, I found myself allowing my emotions to interfere with the proper amount of risk tolerance necessary.
This book helped me to focus on our shortcomings and increase our effectiveness fivefold at least. It will hold your attention, and bears rereading until you have inculcated into yourself the principles stated herein which will certainly increase your profits and reduce your losses.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the kind of book to recommend September 6, 2013

I did not enjoy the book at all. In my opinion the title is totally misleading because there is nothing special in the content to warrant it being called "Secret....."
