This was a well-written book about a man who is the top saleman in the company. Personnel kept going through so many secretaries, they thought he was mean and cruel to each one, that they were running out of prospective girls until this one shows up. He wants to be a Dominant and have his secretary as his submissive. Only problem is he doesn't quite know how to go about this. He goes through many secretaries until he finds the right one, only to lose her, too. So, here he is trying to get her back, which he does, but not in the way he thought he would. I read this book in one evening because it was not only easy reading, but very exciting to see what would happen next to her, or him. Definitely not something that would happen in a real office, but would be nice to think about happening.

I spotted the similarity and the nudge and a wink to the movie "The Secretary" straight away. However it was a decent book. I found the premise a bit far-fetched, BUT, then again, it is a work of fiction. My biggest dislike was just a general feeling that the female lead just rubbed me the wrong way....she was all across the spectrum at first and some of her responses just didnt seem to mesh well...but all in all I found it a rather good read, the sex scenes were well written and the twists and turns were well thought out...I especially liked seeing into the turmoil and struggle the male lead was going through. I'll be checking this author out again and seeing what else she offers.

I loved this book! It's one of my favorite erotica books, and I will definitely be reading it again. The writing was great, the characters were interesting, and the spanking and sex scenes were VERY hot! Definitely made me wish I had a boss like Edward...
If spanking and punishment turns you on, I highly recommend this one!

Learning to be a true "Dom" and learning what makes a true "Sub" gave this book some humor. Emily didn't at first realize that she really was a sub. When she gets hired as a secretary to Mr. Caudry, she realizes just how tough of a boss he can be. He calls her into his office for spelling errors and gives her the choice...be fired, or submit to her "punishment" and do better. He is a Dom in training and she begins to learn that she enjoys being punished. It progresses and both of them love to play at work.
At one point, it goes too far. He leaves her naked in his office overnight and she panics. A true Dom would never leave his sub unprotected. He consults a Dom who tells him his biggest mistake. Now, on a quest to make sure he finds Emily to make her realize his mistake, we see a change in Edward Caudry. I enjoyed the exploration aspect and the tenderness that also exists behind the rules that govern the Dom/Sub relationship.

I read this book in two sittings, and that's saying something for me. The book has great spanking scenes in it, a good build up, and a good plot. I'd say that its only downfall is throughout the main characters day to day, you generally know what's going to happen, but that is why I bought the book in the first place. If you're into spanking, you won't be disappointed.

This was a great book. The first half was written from the heroine's point of view, and the second half was written from the hero's point of view. I won't go into the story details as you can read those from other reviews. I did like that the hero was not completely confident in his actions. The sex and spanking were great but truly a part of the story. I'd love to read similar books by this author but found the author does write a lot aboug BDSM and degradation, which I don't want to read.

I found the plot too hard to swallow. Most of the scenes were just not anywhere close to believability. Just to keep her job, she endures the abuse. Boss never even hints of any feelings for her until she finally leaves him. Sex scenes didn't have much heat generated, but were not too lengthy described, where it can become boring. I read the whole book since it was well written, but I just like to read of plots that could possibly originate, under right circumstances, & atmosphere. Perhaps if author would have made the setting in 40s or 50s, when few rules were established for employees. Hesitating of releiving yourself, is excruciating to anyone. There is always the danger of your spleen bursting, hospital entrance, surgery, & death. But this is not taken into account, here. Personally, it was just too far South for me.

This book lives up to McKenna's reputation for entertaining books. Definetly an enjoyable read. It has only a few parallels to the movie My Secrectary.
