Sizzling!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Secrets: The Best in Women's Sensual Fiction, Vol. 5 (Paperback)
All right, I admit I'm new to the world of "Secrets." Volume 5 is the first I've read and the first two authors (Shannon Hollis and B.J.McCall) wrote top quality stories with racy plots, in-depth characters and red-hot sex ... a bit more than I expected. If you want to read sizzling scenes spiced with romance and excellent writing, keep your eye on these two!

B.J.McCall's Alias Smith & Jones is about 2 strangers who meet in an airport & find themselves stranded for the night. Absolutely brilliant read.
Shannon Hollis's Strictly business finds Elizabeth wanting to break her own rule about personal involvement with a co-worker, Garret Hill. Very hot. Chevon Gael's Insatiable is about Marcus Remington, a photographer & his obsesion with Ashly. After photographing her on her birthday & spending the night together she disapears. For 2 months he is searching for her when they come face to face again. And then the sparks fly... Finally Sandy Fraser's Beneath two moons is set in the future. Dr. Eva Kelsey is sent to evaluate Conor. The more she finds out about him, the more she wants him. A brilliant read.

"Strictly Business",

This review is from: Secrets: The Best in Women's Sensual Fiction, Vol. 5 (Paperback)
"Strictly Business" is a sensational story. I normally read murder mysteries, and when I read this story I couldn't put the book down. I had to finish the story in one reading. I loved the fact that the writer made the characters real. I feel that this is a very talented writer and I can't wait to read more of her novels. If you want good writing and sizzling romances this writer knows how to give it to you.

Too hot to handle!,

Cold showers are in store for anyone who reads Shannon Hollis' Strictly Business. The sexual tension between Garret and Elizabeth begins at fever pitch and rises from there! Not for the shy at heart, this novella will make you re-think the office taboo of "frisky business." Shannon Hollis' engaging writing and vivid characters will have you groaning when the end comes way too soon.

...,
This review is from: Secrets: The Best in Women's Sensual Fiction, Vol. 5 (Paperback)
Alisa Smith and Jones - This one had a good plot, but not a good female lead. Meredith was mean and too uptight.
Strictly Business - This story had a good plot, good characters, great writing, and sexy erotica. Insatiable - This was a cute story that ended on a cliffhanger really, but not very hot. Beneath Two Moons - This was the worst. Dr. Kelsey was a rude, cold female lead who only really liked Conor for sex. She didn't want to be with him because she thought he'd only think of her as a sex fling and still have other women. But she doesn't particularly care for anything but sex with this gorgeous old-fashioned cowboy. She stupidly walked away from him after one of their sexual encounters like it was no big deal, leaving him hurt. The ending was rushed and totally unbelievable.

Secrets, Volume 5: Four perfect sensual romance stories,

This review is from: Secrets: The Best in Women's Sensual Fiction, Vol. 5 (Paperback)
Secrets V is every bit as hot as its advertising claims. What a a great book! I especially enjoyed "Strictly Business" by Shannon Hollis, which proves erotica can have solid plot and great characters without losing any steam.

Not nearly as good as the previous editions,
By A Customer
This review is from: Secrets: The Best in Women's Sensual Fiction, Vol. 5 (Paperback)
Having read some of the other volumes of Secrets and been pleased, I settled in expecting something dramatic and steamy and a lot of fun. Instead I found stilted writing, characters who weren't very interesting and a lack of sexual tension. It read more like pornography--strangers having sex without reason--than anything that could be labeled romantic erotica.

After reading the previous 4 editions of Secrets, which were all very good stories, I was not nearly as pleased with this edition. The stories and characters were not very interesting.
