Book Description

There are laws banning human cloning for a reason.

Travis Brody is a man with a tortured past who has built a wall of arrogance, antagonism, and animosity between himself and the world.
Janey Carmichael is a young woman living a life besieged with disappointment and poverty, but has never lost hope for the happy ever after ending with the man she fell in love with at first sight.
Jesse Messenger is a terrified little boy, alone, far from home, and witness to the vicious murder of Joseph, his guardian. As the center of a conspiracy he’s too young to understand, Jesse holds the secret that can bring down The Committee; a covert society that has been in power for over one hundred and fifty years.
Now it is up to Travis and Janey to protect Jesse from the assassins the chairman of The Committee has set on the trail of this very special, five-year-old boy.
Will Travis and Janey be able to keep Jesse out of the clutches of a maniac with a God complex?
Can Janey and Jesse break through the barriers Travis has built, before it’s too late?

The first surviving human clone is not the secret.
Where the DNA came from to clone him, is.

5.0 out of 5 stars secrets in bethlehem August 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I met Kate Porters brother in a lab over spilled coffee. We made small talk when he noticed my kindle. He then proceded to tell me all about his sister, her first book and how proud he and the family were! I went home, looked up the book and began to read and couldn't put it down! Congrats on a great read! Can't wait for book 2! Tell your brother hi and thanks for bringing me to you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it! September 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Great story with lots of symbolism. The fast paced story has many twists and turns. The characters come to life with great physical description. And we get into the characters minds and feel what they are feeling. I did not figure I would like the book but it drew me in and kept my interest. I definitely recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars great plot! July 20, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I chose this book because I read an article in a magazine about Kate Porter and how she had struggled for her dream to write a book. I was amazed how quickly the book captured me. I didn't want to put it down. I enjoyed the characters and the concept of the plot was truly interesting. There were multiple editing errors but they were easy to overlook because I was enjoying the book so much.

I did not like her use of vulgar words and I will not recommend this book at all. This author Probably had a good story. I did not read more than a very few pages.

There was too much the same. Same thoughts, same actions, same language. The author needs an editor who knows better spelling and grammar. Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars An amateur attempt at a "Dan Brown" type story.
Another "Dan Brown" type story, only this time the story line took back seat to the sex. Too bad the author didn't stick to the idea behind the book.

More About the Author

Born on Christmas Eve 1956, Kate Porter, has had one true passion: writing. Even as a young girl poetry and short stories were her pleasure and her escape. From a small farming town approximately fifty miles south of Indianapolis and two time winner of the Indie Book of the Day award, Kate has loved writing. From her first short story printed in her high school newspaper at the age of fifteen, until the publication of her first full length novel, SECRETS IN BETHLEHEM, in the summer of 2012 she has dreamed of being an author. Kate was profiled in her hometown newspaper shortly afterward. In August 2013, Kate was featured in WOMAN'S DAY magazine and again in the Greenville News, in September 2013. She held her first author event in September as well.

Kate's latest release, CHASE NIGHTLY, L'UCCISORE, is the first installment of her new TEAM NIGHTLY series and sample chapters can be found on her website@ www.kateporter.net.

And be on the look out for my new release, BLACK HARVEST, in early 2014.

I am no expert, so far I haven't sold even one copy of my book. Per a friend's suggestion, I have joined goodreads and joined some book clubs in my book's genre to see if I can generate some interest. By the way, I just got your book which you are offering for free. After I read it I will... Read more
