This book is a great antidote for self-help books that are so often cliche-ridden and reductive. It is well-written and grounded in the "real world." The advice is practical, insightful, and tempered by recognizable experience. At a time when so many feel so much anxiety about the stability of their lives and futures--this is a timely investment in personal development.

I found this book both deeply moving and incredibly inspiring. The personal stories of Khamisa and Quinn, as well as the people they have counseled, are ones I know I'll remember vividly weeks and months after reading them. The sage advice that Secrets of the Bulletproof Spirit contains and the positive outlook it encourages all of us to develop couldn't be more timely.

When I heard about the Authors of this book and their incredible stories I knew that if anyone would have any insights into the answer to this question it would be Azim and Jillian. Azim's son was murdered and it was his bullet proof spirit that led him to forgive the one who had killed his son. He realized in his grief and loss that there were many victims and that the only way to heal was to truly forgive. Jillian was heartbroken when told that the baby she carried was not living and upon recovery from her loss she adopted a child. Both of these Authors took these heart wrenching experiences and turned them into something positive, encouraging and triumphant. How does one so broken and in pain rise up in service to others? Forgivness is truly possible and the lightness that it brings is so peaceful. Forgiveness yields peace within and in one's whole perspective outward. A wonderful book!

A good read.

Just started reading the book. Has good concepts easy to understand and is exactly what I was looking for.

What content of this I was able to get through seemed to have good value. However, no small matter, I was unable to continue on due to the very poor writing -- the authors used the word "bulletproof" I don't know how many times -- stopped counting at about 75. I doubt there's a single page in this 262 page book that doesn't use it at least once, often more. Add to that the repeated use of "hits" and "boot camp" coupled with "spiritually fragile people" and it's enough to make you want to take aim at the NRA. If the authors have so little creativity that they can't use a thesaurus once every 20 pages to get their point across, then the point won't get across. And the "spiritually fragile people" phrase repeated, repeated, repeated screams condesension (clearly, they don't think they are one of them). What a shame, the idea had merit.
