I bought this book almost twenty years ago and have found none since that compare in information about sewing animal skins. A must have for any real purist.

I bought this book with the hopes it would take me from someone who had no idea how to sew fur to someone who had a general base of understanding. While the book contains many different patterns for numerous projects, it really lacks the step by step detail a novice needs to use. I ended up taking a class at the local University Alaska Fairbanks center and that 4 day hands on class gave me a much better idea of how the projects in this book are laid out. I will certainly keep the book for reference, but if you are hoping for a step by step with lots of FAQ's you will likely be disappointed.

This book was very small, short in length, had only a handfull of photos. The info it does have is great - but the book should be larger and longer, with way more photos, more detailed info on stiching, sewing, and designs. It reads more like a pamphlet then a book. Overall I would buy this book knowing what I know now.

When one sees the words "good, acceptable, poor" on books you tend to wonder what the raters opinion was in comparison to your own. I can absolutely say that what was marked as "good" is most certainly marked as "fantastic" in my book. The shipment was fast, the product is in wonderful to near mint condition, and I am more than pleased with this seller. Thank you!

Anytime you try to show how to BUILD something with just some rough pictures...it won't work out well. After you mess up once, you get what they are trying to say, so I wouldn't use the "good fur" on your first run. Made some nice slippers for my baby girl, and they worked out well. I've made quite a few ruffs, and the pattern here is a bit hard to follow, but again, once you've done it and made a few adjustments it'll all make sense.

All in all, a great starter book. Once you get the basics you'll modify all patterns to how you want to make them and to what you are making. But definately a great starter book for the basics.
