This is a wonderful book on the LIGHT that is within us all. It shows us how to bring the Light forth and use the POWER that God himself has given man to use, to glorify(Him)GOD. GOD has been waiting for this POWER to be used if man will only come to his LIGHT. Read John 8:12.And when you read this book by "Annalee Skarin" you will understand these scriptures in 1 John 1:5,God is Light,1 John 3:1-3. Secrets of Eternity is just that Thank God always. "Annalee Skarin" was given the pen of HEAVEN....!Peace,love and LIGHT to all!!!!!!

The writing of mystics has fascinated me my whole adult life. Obviously, I wish to have the mystic experience myself, although it should be obvious that I have NOT had it. Too often, mystics write rhapsodically about how good God is. Undoubtedly that is true. Undoubtedly it is meaningful. However, it helps me very little in getting from my present status to some improved mystic status. It just doesn't help. Others obtain "enlightenment" and write at length about what a good deal it is to be enlightened. Again, it is probably true and may be useful to someone. It isn't useful to me. It doesn't help. So, for me, most mystic writing is not helpful or useful.

I find the writings of John of the Cross and Theresa of Avila to be the most practical or useful I have found until now.

This book by Annalee Skarin is clearly the writing of a mystic. It is not obviously inconsistent at all with the writings of John of the Cross or Theresa of Avila, people of unquestionable mastery. However, it is different. Her message is relatively simple and could be expressed compactly. This book is quite long and is very repetitive. So, it isn't exactly a light or easy read. It is probable that the extreme repetition is needed to make her point strongly enough. Usually, I offer a glib paragraph summary of a whole book. The message is simple enough that I could actually manage to do that here, too. However, I think it is likely that her book is actually an inspired writing. To summarize it might injure the transmission of the message, and so I will avoid that. I hope that this book is actually both true and practically useful. I certainly intend to find out myself whether her approach "works" and will lead people to valid and genuine spiritual growth.

I think the point is mainly this: What she writes is sufficiently clear that a person COULD actually try it. That is certainly not true with most mystic writings. For myself, I see nothing harmful or contrary to the person and message of Jesus Christ in this book. Of course, I am willing to accept correction from anyone who knows better than I do (not difficult).
