5.0 out of 5 stars Men can truely understand their spouse., July 1, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Secrets of Eve (Hardcover)
This book was incredible! It explored a sub-culture of people not yet explored, and made careful and accurate conclusions that transformed my marriage when put into practice. I talked it all over with my spouse who was very surprised at it's content. I underwent many changes that reflected to her my desire to see and meet her daily needs. She decided to read it and reccommend it to everyone. Even though a person doesn't fall into this sub-cultures category, if a person reads it with an open heart and humility, they too can be apart of strenthening, reconciling, and reconstructing their marriage. Many myths of our thinking, as men, toward sex and women were exposed, truths reinforced, and suggestions for continuing to meet your spouses needs (with the consequences of her meeting yours), constructively given. I had no idea what my spouse may be going through. I had no idea of all the things out there that negatively affect a womens sexuality, and my wife had no idea how to explain this as well. I had a very narrowed view of women's sexuality and the difficulties they face due to the distortions from movies, my sexual education via friends, & pornographic materials I looked at until my early 20's. This is a must buy for anyone who wants to understand how to show their spouse love, & respect, that is interpreted as just that. This book explores how cigarrette smoking, over the counter drugs, child birth, traumas (physically in a car crash or abuse, or mentally), etc. and the affects they have on a womens sexuality. It gives concrete ideas for the mans responce to their spouse which I used and our relationship hit a high I wasn't sure was possible. Great book for educators, leaders, Pastors, counselors, Parents, married couples, and singles who will get married. A really great book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Long-Overdue, Christian Book on Female Sexuality, May 18, 2002
By

This review is from: Secrets of Eve (Hardcover)
I have read several Christian books which give a general overview on how male and female relational, emotional and physical needs differ. Usually only one chapter is devoted to sex, and then the attention is focused on the activity of marital sex itself rather than the broader subject of male/female sexuality. In this book, Hart provides the feminine counterpart to his earlier, masculine work, "The Sexual Man."

This book has a strong Christian perspective, and the author makes no apologies for it. In fact, one of the main reasons Hart wrote this work is to give an accurate treatment of CHRISTIAN female sexuality, which differs in several ways from secular treatments of the same topic.

Reading this book will enhance your marriage, and will be especially helpful if you have a Christian marriage. It will also be a tremendous asset if you are single. This work isn't just for women -- it is a work ABOUT women, for women as well as for men. Get it, read it, and see the improvement God brings in your life!

I found this book to be extremely helpful in identifying and confirming the needs and expectations women have of intimate relations. It was also helpful in recognizing the specific things which limit or quelch desire for women.
I really appreciated the advice for optimal lifestyles for those going through PMS or Menopause.
Truly a book worth having for your reference library!

5.0 out of 5 stars a much-needed, rare book, October 14, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Secrets of Eve (Hardcover)
I searched high and low to find a book on female sexuality (not just sex "how-to," or how not to!) written from a Christian perspective. I was delighted to find this book, and even more appreciative when I read it. The authors present a well-rounded look at an important topic. Too bad it's out of print....

5.0 out of 5 stars mellibot's review is biased, May 20, 2002

I thought that this book was amazing. Mellibot is a feminist, so of course she thinks that this book is "propaganda." This book has excellent advice and information for women and for men. The fact is, true fulfilling sex comes only with a committed marital relationship, just like God has always told us. He knows best for us. ... which is better, to trust your own self-centered ideas, or to trust the God who created you? May Christ be glorified in this book.
