This show often hires absolutely wonderful talent to guest star and this episode showcased this aspect by hiring Patricia Arquette. We open with her looking like a middle aged woman going to daily mass and she looks well into her forties. Shortly thereafter she transforms herself into a street prostitute and you would never know it is the same person. Her importance to the episode is that she is the person a killer on the rampage in the city keeps calling and trying to meet. SVU needs to keep on her night and day to find this killer. Arquette essentially blows every other actor off the screen with this role.

For those not familiar with Arquette, she was a leading film actress before turning to tv. She worked with most of the top directors and male stars. She branched off into tv as she aged. She starred in her own show MEDIUM for many seasons. She comes from a family of actors, including Roseanna Arquette and David Arquette.

A year or so ago this show hired Ann-Margaret to guest star and she likewise put in a performance as an alcoholic which blew everyone else off the screen. She won an Emmy for that guest star, which Patricia Arquette could easily do as well. This kind of talent is "don't miss" when they do us the favor of appearing on the small screen.

L&O SVU has been one of my favorites since 2005. I'd watch it every now and then on late-night TV, then was very excited to find it more recently on Amazon Prime with every episode at my disposal. The way the show is written keeps you interested for the full hour and unable to wait for the next episode. I have heard a lot of people talk about how the smart police work in L&O Criminal Intent is far superior to SVU. In my opinion, the chance of dealing with a live victim, and watching them and their families deal with the crisis forms the perfect B plot while watching a team of smart, quick, and on occasion funny detectives solve the case. Also comparing to the original Law and Order and Criminal Intent, you get to see events take a turn away from the conventional "someone in New York City is a murderer and we'll comb the city until we find him/her" style. Most of the time, the murderer in these shows has some kind of notorious reason behind it. In SVU, the culprits sometimes believe they are doing nothing wrong at all. This adds on to the pile of individuality that SVU provides. Also, you see places. I have never seen an episode (correct me if I'm wrong) of original L&O or Criminal Intent where the detectives venture outside of NYC or the general New York state area. In one particular episode of SVU, Detective Stabler ventures to the Czech Republic to find a criminal. All in all, this series provides the perfect good guys/bad guys experience. It may get rough, the line may be grey, but in the end, good trumps evil. And that is what I look for in my Law and Order experience.

I was not too sure about Christopher Meloni being replaced and if anyone could replace him. But the characters/actors that they chose was spot on! I still miss Stabler, but SVU is new and alive again right down to their new ADA! I am enjoying season 14 with the new cast! Keep up the great work!

I LOVE THIS SHOW, AND THIS EPISODE I REALLY ENJOYED AND AM SO GLAD TO SEE MIKE TYSON GET SOME GOOD THINGS GOING, AS I FEEL HE PAID HIS TIME AND PUNISHMENT, AND HE DID A GOOD JOB WITH ACTING WITHOUT A LOT OF EXPERIENCE.

Acting is bad and stories are not well played out. I guess it would be Ok, but the SVU series' bars have been raised high.... It's way below it's standards.

The suspense was killing me. As usual this is what you expect from the Law & Order team. A closely know story with very good acting.
