1.0 out of 5 stars Really confusing and bad
This book is a remix of THE GAME by Neil Strauss and The Mystery Method.Actually, its an exact replica. It teaches you a step by step formula including disqualifying beautiful women. Yes, it takes pick-up, and makes it seem difficult and hardly focuses on body language. Like what you say is more important than how you say it. Come on.

Whoever wrote this book...

I have at this point read most of the book, but it seemed appropriate to write a feedback to add a little something more in case people are wondering whether they should buy it. After reading some great reviews on the product, and having read the MM manual, decided to check this one out. The modus operandi of this book or how you should go about "pick up" is very similar to Mystery's and I wouldn't be surprised to discover one day, he was a student of Mystery's, himself. With that said, this isn't simply a regurgitation of Mystery's idea and it seems that the author has a lot of direct experience with having picked up women and a lot of extra and useful information is here communicated, that ADDS to the whole social dynamic of interacting with women.

There is a lot of psychological gems on how women operate, and the author gives you a look into women's perspective on approach, and specially what women look for in a man approaching them. I specially like how the author goes about "building" the student up from the ground up, telling the failing student of pick up where he's been going wrong and busts you right off the bat, on some of the false myths that we all believe about women, that hinder us from ever thinking you have a CHANCE even. He's got some fairly logical tips on hygiene and keeping your outward appearance shiny and attractive, which is useful. What type of women are out there, as he categorizes them into different groups. And the last section, which is the part I'm currently reading, on how the whole game works including openers, hooks, etc. your tools.

Personally, I'm satisfied with the content and feel that any page I turned so far, I either learned a little something new or had something I knew already be brought back into focus and highlighted. As a strong supporter of the MM method, I recommend this book so you can fine tune whatever you need to get right, from working with Mystery's ideas or anything you're currently working with. These ideas are timeless and in this case, specially modern and relevant to today's evolving world.

5.0 out of 5 stars an A for the A Game, October 9, 2010

This review is from: Secrets of the A Game: How to Meet and Attract Women Anywhere, Anyplace, Anytime (Paperback)
Very well written and informative. The first part of the book is a bit slow and talks mostly about what most all of us guys already know; we need to improve our 'game'. Once the book gets going in the steps to take in attracting, meeting, dating and sexing the ladies, it is hard to put down.
Recommended for all virile males no matter how old.

Yes, it takes pick-up, and makes it seem difficult and hardly focuses on body language. Like what you say is more important than how you say it. Come on.

Whoever wrote this book is clearly full of it. He took tons of advice from other dating gurus online, and created a book with scattered information. I am pretty great with women, proud to say, so I can spot bull really fast and easily. I scammed through this book in less than 5 minutes and I threw it away. I read almost every single pick up based material out there, and this book teaches you...

Canned lines such as the jealous ex girlfriend opener written in THE GAME.
The 2 girls fighting outside written in THE GAME.
Using disqualifyers on beautiful women written in THE GAME.
Using false time constraints before your opener written in THE GAME.
And a whole lot of information overload, and anyone that is TRULY great with women will tell you "its simply not that confusing guys"

I don't know who this guy is,but I would LOVE to go into a bar with him, and see if he is REAL, or gathering a load of crp and writing a book on it. Ill give it one star because it tells you to remind yourself that you are a great catch sometimes, and it gives you a sense of confidence and value. That is the most valuable info in this book to me.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too Basic, not enough examples., November 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Secrets of the A Game: How to Meet and Attract Women Anywhere, Anyplace, Anytime (Paperback)
If you have read the "Mystery Method" there is absolutely no reason to buy this book. It is the same exact thing, but yet even more basic and obvious. The first six chapters talk about making sure you shower, brush your teeth, and dress nice before you go out. Are you kidding me? What a waste of time. One thing this book lacks (and others like it) is a comprehensive list of proven openers. They say stuff like, make sure you have a list of witty openers before you go out. OK, how about sharing a whole bunch if you are an expert. If I didnt have a problem thinking of clever openers on command I wouldn't of bought this book.

I guess if your a teenager just entering the pick up scene, you might get something out of this, but If you have any experience already, this is probably a waste of time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Guide for All Sexes, February 26, 2009
This review is from: Secrets of the A Game: How to Meet and Attract Women Anywhere, Anyplace, Anytime (Paperback)
When I picked up this book it wasn't because I wanted to "meet and attract women anywhere, anyplace, anytime." I'm a gay man, so that's not what intrigued me. Instead, it was the methods and techniques that the author suggests that drew me to the book, and I can honestly say that after reading this book all the way through and putting some of those methods and techniques to action, they work - for both sexes.

What Logan is teaching here is basic social conditioning. How to start a conversation, how to listen, how to find the right people in the right places. It's true, most people probably already have these skills - they're just not using them properly or to their full potential.

The A Game is not just a guide, either. It's a coach and a motivator. It encourages readers to get out there and do something about their personal situation. And it gives everything you need to do so, from grooming tips to how to build self-confidence when you're not feeling so confident. Even the most seasoned dating pro can learn a few tricks in this book. Above all, it's fun!

Highly recommended!

3.0 out of 5 stars A decent addition to the "pick-up" collection, March 3, 2009

The "pick-up scene" seems to be very "in" right now and everyone seems to be getting in on it except for the unfortunate targets themselves. Which is exactly how it should be right? Can't have the other side learning our secrets can we? I used to turn my nose up at it myself. You should be yourself, right? But being yourself is exactly the problem for most guys, most of the time. So I couldn't resist taking a peek at this latest part of the fad...

...And it's just like everything else I've heard and read! The opener, the routines, the closer... Everything you heard before from Mystery and Strauss, it's all here. Which means it's about as helpful so I can't exactly dismiss it based on that. However, if you do pick this up - and if you're having trouble opening women, what have you got to lose? Go for it! - I recommend skipping the entire first 100 pages, maybe even the first half. It's all common sense stuff like "Make sure you shower!" and "Don't be a louse, clean your car!" If you can't wrap yourself around "inner game" concepts like those then you're in need of more important help.

This book has a corny name and cover. But the information inside is terrific. Well-thought out, logically presented, feels very authentic. It is clear that the author cares about his audience. This is the best book on the subject - and I have read several. I have been putting the author's ideas into practice and they work. It's funny that you can spend a few dollars on a book and it can help you have a much better life.

4.0 out of 5 stars Long book to finish, but provides a helpful step-by-step system, October 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Secrets of the A Game: How to Meet and Attract Women Anywhere, Anyplace, Anytime (Paperback)
It requires considerable time, patience and endurance to finish reading this entire book, with its 415 pages. Consequently, I doubt that the average guy will ever finish reading it. This is unfortunate, given how badly men need dating advice. There were many times when I wanted to give up, because it's not a book that you can plow through quickly. Now that I just finished reading the whole thing, I will definitely benefit.

The initial chapters make you aware of all the important factors which are part of your preparation. The most important chapters are the ones at the end, corresponding to each of the five stages of this system: open, hook, attract, connect, close. By the time you complete the book, you will never forget this sequence. The final chapter is a troubleshooting guide for each stage.

The idea of immediately approaching and talking to groups of people as soon as you enter a venue, is not as practical as the author makes it sound, in my opinion. The venue, the size and disposition of groups, and the personality and mood of the person making the approach, will dictate the outcome more than faithfully following this "open and hook" technique. The same is true of suggested dialogue techniques and examples, much of which employ reverse psychology. It takes a certain amount of character and personality to pull these off.

While I don't agree with every technique and strategy in this book--since I know not all of them fit my personality--the overall structure of this system makes sense to me. Based on my lifetime of dating experience, I agree with the last three stages--attract, connect, close--as each being distinct and exactly in that sequence. Frankly, I can't even think of better words than those to describe the three stages, or else I would substitute them in.

The first two stages--open and hook--are only there if you begin your pursuit by greeting a group of people in which you see someone you're attracted to. In reality, if I'm by myself at a bar or club, for example, I'm not the type of person who will approach a table of five women sitting down at a table, even after reading this book. Personally, I usually don't approach more than two girls together, if I'm by myself. When you're only approaching two people, the boisterous storytelling routine will not work the same as it theoretically will for a larger group of people.

As far as the open and hook stages, the book only gives the scenario of a guy approaching a group of girls by himself, while his friends are elsewhere. In reality, many guys like to approach together, which this book does not address.

In summary, this book is an important contribution to the field of dating for men, filled with plenty of suggestions and examples. However, it's not an end-all resource. It's emphasis is on personality techniques, which is secondary to one's character underneath. If you're character is lacking, then I think one would benefit from reading a book like "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen R. Covey. Without a foundation of character and personal success, you won't reap the full benefits from a book like "Secrets of the A Game," which provide the finishing touches.

A minor point worth mentioning is the number of typographical errors found throughout the book. Chapter 5, Understanding Women, has a section which lists Types of Women in a two-column format. Columns continue on the next page rather than into the next column. It took a little while for me to figure out what was going on. It's obvious that the author went with a relatively small publisher and low-budget editing (or lack thereof). The font and formatting are very basic, printed entirely in black and white.

The cover page for each chapter contains subtle artwork. Inside the chapters, there are no figures, diagrams, or color to break up the monotony. I think this helps explain why it was hard to sit down and read this book for long periods of time. I've had this book for over a year, reading bits at a time. Finally, I got tired of this and put in some serious reading time to get it done. Otherwise, another year would go by and I still wouldn't be finished with it. Perhaps the book could have been abridged into a more concise version which is realistic for the average person to finish reading in a reasonable period of time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Understanding Women, October 6, 2011
This review is from: Secrets of the A Game: How to Meet and Attract Women Anywhere, Anyplace, Anytime (Paperback)
So, no book is going to fully teach me how to understand women, but after reading two specific chapters I realized how my thought process was all wrong. Specifically in understanding what women find attractive - not the stuff I have or the job, but how to get a positive emotional response with women. Tease, be playful, challenge them, don't be scared to disagree... this is the opposite of how I used to be. It's still tough. I still have to think about it and I have to correct myself while I'm talking, but I have a better grasp on it. This book kinda rocks, but it's way long. I got a lot more out of the two chapters on understanding women and then the back half with more tactics - more "do this, don't do that" It's been on the money about a lot of things.

I did not like this book very much. It would constantly state the obvious like "You should always brush your teeth" and "Always take showers." Seriously, if you needed a book to tell you that then you should re-evaluate your life. The book only tells you a few good things WAY towards the end of the book, points i could count on one hand. I would avoid this book and pick up something that will help you in the real world. I suggest "The Game" by Neil Strauss.
