Amazing Beginning of the Series,
By Hannah Lane (Georgia, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Secrets (Glenbrooke, Book 1) (Paperback)
After a spontanious idea of picking up this random book at the library, I sat in my mother's car heading to an out-of-city thanksgiving dinner. Stationed in the back of the car, the overhead light provided the ability to read on this adventure. At 5 o'clock, I picked up this book called Secrets. I began the cutest love story. Meet Jessica, a single, stranger to the town of Glenbrooke, Oregon. She ends up in a wreck right outside the town. She is rescued by handsome volunteer fire-fighter Kyle Buchanan. After series of events, she finds herself wrapped up in her new school as a High School English Teacher. When Kyle comes to falling head over heels with her, she turns him away and is criticized of her assumed relationship with him by a jealous principal, Charlotte. They end up on a mission trip together in Mexico and she finds her way back to Christ. After her truck breaking down, she is robbed without the robbers knowing she's in the car, hiding in the floorboard. When Kyle finds her, all her emotions let loose and she ends up spilling almost the whole story that has been hidden since she left California to Glennbrooke. All she had been hiding, gone in a matter of minutes. They fall in love, and of course, almost every novel ends with: The promise of an upcoming wedding. But, don't worry, the ending will either have you in tears, or reliving your own love story. So, five stars Mrs. Gunn! Your masterpiece is a keeper.

Secrets was awesome!,

This review is from: Secrets (Glenbrooke, Book 1) (Paperback)
I'm an almost-14-year-old girl who loves reading Christian romances, especially by Robin Jones Gunn. This book (and the rest of the Glenbrooke series) is great. I especially like Kyle. He's the ideal & perfect guy. I love how this and the rest of the Glenbrooke books are linked in certain ways to each other and the other books in the Glenbrooke series. It's cool because Christy Miller is mentioned, and you keep seeing people like Kyle and Jessica in the later books.

I stumbled upon this series while I was looking for another good book or series at my local Christian store. This first book, Secrets, got me in to it in the 1st chapters and after that I was hooked. Excellent Read! Great Christian Romance!,

This book was very entertaining and intriguing. I read it in less than a day. Robin Jones Gunn does a terrific job of creating interesting and fun characters. I especially appreciate the way the subject of God and becoming a born-again Christian is written into this story. This Christian Romance was a pleasant change from the usual nothing-but-sex romances you find in regular bookstores. Keep it up, Ms. Gunn!

If only there really WAS a Glenbrooke...,
By Kathryn (Ohio, United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Secrets (Glenbrooke, Book 1) (Paperback)
I love this book! I've read the Christy Miller (and most of the Sierra Jensen) books, and heard Ms. Gunn had written some adult novels. I picked this one up, started it, and absolutly could not put it down! This is a great Christian romance novel, not just about the love between Jessica & Kyle, but the romance between a woman and God. Robin Gunn has written some great alternatives to the trashy romance novels that seem to be so popular today. I reccomend this (and the rest of the series) to anyone...mothers, daughters, any woman in the mood for a good love story without all the filth. I loved "Secrets", shared it with my Mom, and now we both wish there really was a Glenbrooke. Read this, and I know you'll find yourself wishing the same thing.

A perfect "escape" book!,
By Not ashamed of Jesus (Michigan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Secrets (Glenbrooke, Book 1) (Paperback)
This was the type of book I could not put down until I knew what happened next. Everything from the characters to the town where the story takes place makes you fall in love with the story. You actually want to live in Glennbrooke! As soon as I finished this first in the Glennbrooke series, I began ordering the remainder of the series. They are all delightful but this was my favorite!

thought-provoking Christian romance,
By Beverly "bevreader" (Mississippi) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Secrets (Glenbrooke, Book 1) (Paperback)
When Jessica moves to the small town of Glenbrooke, it is obvious that she is hiding something. She changes her name, doesn't have identification, and won't discuss her background with anyone. Kyle and Teri, Jessica's new friends, are Christians, and Jessica has never been around Christians before. She does not understand what they mean when they talk about surrendering her entire life to God, and she continues to keep secrets from them, even though Kyle warns her that secrets get heavier and heavier the longer that you carry them. After a frightening night lost in a foreign country in a rainstorm, Jessica finally begins to understand what Kyle has told her. Anxious to finally begin sharing a part of herself with Kyle, Jessica is shocked to find out that he, too, has been harboring a secret for many years. Can Kyle and Jessica be honest with each other and their friends? Will they both finally totally surrender all parts of their lives to God? Secrets is a great Christian romance that will make you think about letting God in every part of your life.

I started with Sunsets while I was doing a job at a Kmart and we had some down time so I sat down and started reading... I have been hooked ever since! I've been to every Kmart since looking for any new ones! I would not classify myself as a Christian book reader, if I had known ahead of time that this was a Christian series... I personally probably wouldn't even have picked it up. But, I'm glad I did.. I can't get enough! Please please PLEASE bring out more! I'm in need of more Glenbrooke!

A friend gave me one of these books and I was wary at first becuase I don't usually like christian romances, but this series is so awesome! It's so much more real than most romances, all of the characters are different and yet I fell in love with all of them. I definatly recomend this series to all christian women, married or not.
